Annual Meeting Highlights John Greene, of MDNA Member Firm FL Sales, Inc. was elected President of the Association during MDNA’s 78th Annual Business Meeting and Convention held in Palm Springs CA, at the La Quinta Resort and Club from May 2 to May 5. This newly elected Officer team also consists of MDNA First Vice President Craig L. Ward of FP Miller Co., Second Vice President Ed Krause of FH Machinery, Treasurer Dan Wheeler of Wheeler Machinery Sales, Inc. and Immediate Past President Joe Lundvick of Perfection Global LLC.

Notable Awards Presented Dan Wheeler of Wheeler Machinery Sales Inc. (pictured far right) was presented with the Dick Goldstein Leadership Award. This was presented to Dan for his exemplary leadership of the Membership Committee and his prior service to his chapter on the West Coast. Senior MDNA Board Member and former AMEA President Jim Zvonar of Industrial Machinery Corp., (pictured upper right) was honored with the Earl Elman Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contribution to MDNA and the used machinery industry. Jim’s company was one of the founding members of the MDNA and Jim’s personal involvement in the MDNA and the AMEA has spanned many years.

ADLSF Raises $30,000 in Scholarship Fund The Austin D. Lucas Scholarship Fund raised $30,000 during this year’s Convention through the annual Ray Roberts’ Raffle. Winners Included: Jeff Miller Maynards Industries USA LLC- $1,000 Brad Wilson Alternative Machine Tool LLC- $1,500 David Ruth, Freedom Machinery Company, Inc. – $2,000 Mike Reeves, Automatics & Machinery Co. Inc.- $10,000 Special thanks are owed to John Conroy, Convention Committee Chairman; and John Greene, Seminars Committee Chairman and their committees for putting together a great mix of interesting, entertaining and educational seminars, social activities and networking events during this year’s Convention.

At Saturday Night’s Presidential Banquet MDNA Past President Michael Feinstein of Universal Metalworking Equipment Inc. (pictured above) received one of MDNA’s highest honors, the Randal K. Vinson Award. Named in honor of MDNA’s Professional Staff Director for many years until his retirement in 1965, this award is presented to individuals in recognition of and in appreciation for outstanding and continuous contributions to the advancement of MDNA and the used machinery industry. In presenting this award, MDNA Past President Paul Lashin of Prestige Equipment Corp mentioned Michael’s Service to MDNA and its subsidiaries but went on to talk about how Michael had been a mentor to those following in his footsteps. In accepting the award, Michael thanked the association for being such an intricate part of his life and he also thanked his loving and supportive family and wife Judy. MDNA NEWS | PAGE 9


Remembering Jean Harris Sr., CEA President of MDNA Member Firm Harris Machine Tools, Inc. Jean Harris Sr., CEA passed away in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family on Saturday May 4th. He is survived by his wife, MDNA Past President Jeannine Harris; sister, Linda Brandino; daughter, Terra Harris Rosenblad (Lance); son, Jean Harris, Jr. (Jaime); and three grandchildren, Harris Rosenblad, Travis Rosenblad and Lara Rosenblad. Jean worked for long time MDNA Members Pearl Equipment and Paul’s Machinery before forming Harris Machine Tools, Inc., with Jeannine in 1981. By 1988 he was on the board of our subsidiary publication company LOCATOR Services Inc. Jean became a member of the AMEA Certified Equipment Appraisers in 1985 and was one of the longest standing members in the association. He served on the AMEA Board of Directors from 1995 until his passing.

Jean served our association for more than 30 years at both the local and national levels in positions that included: MDNA Board Service Record: 1991-2014 Southwest Chapter Board Representative 1992 Chairman of the Houston Committee 1995-1999 Serial Number Reference Book Committee 1995-2019 Austin D. Lucas Scholarship Fund Board of Trustees 2003-2019 Convention Committee 2015-2019 MDNA Voluntary Board Member Jean was so loved by our association (by our MDNA Family) that in 2009 he was awarded the Earl Elman Distinguished Service Award: This Distinguished Service Award is presented sparingly, and as appropriate, to those who have made an outstanding contribution to the used machinery industry and the MDNA.
