DRAWINGS AND PAINTINGS
The mocking and charming look, his mischievous smile in the corner of the mouth. Holocaust survivor, Kiwa immigrated to Brazil in 1948, married my grandmother, and started a family in São Paulo. Despite his life’s hardship he has always carried a smile. I drew these lines to eternalize my grandfather’s look two days after his passing. Upon completing it, I felt as if I had registered his essence.
