The sale includes the collection of Mr. Tony Murphy, late of Millockstown, Ardee, Co. Louth and formerly of Smarmore Castle and Baltrasna House, on the instructions of Mrs. Sheila Murphy. There are many items on sale that were acquired by Mr. Murphy directly from the Taaffe family when he purchased Smarmore Castle, including an exciting archive of social history. Having trained as an accountant, Tony worked at Ballymascanlon Hotel before moving to Kingscourt Brick which he later acquired, providing employment for many. He was affectionately known to his family as 'four sheds Tony', recalling the many sheds he built to house his collection of salvaged material. The sale also includes the collection of the late Ann Williams formerly of Dew Park, Tullamore, Co. Offaly; the collection of The Very Reverend Father Walter Forde P.P., late of Castlebridge, Co.Wexford and of Clonattin, Gorey, Co.Wexford; and the collection of the late Mr. Niall Nolan, of Sandfield House, Oak Park, Co. Carlow
