A t the beginning of the war, four types of tank were used by .. Germans, namely P z K\v I, 11, I11 and IV. As t h e war progressed, hr the P z Kw I and later t h e P z ICw I1 began t o drop out, so t h a t t h e form, is now obsolete and t h e latter obsolescent. Meanwhile, the two mediu tanlcs Pz I<wI11 and I V have been improved and fitted with longer barrellc guns, and two further types have been added t o the range of fighting t a r 1 T h e first additional type was t h e Czech LTH, ktlown to tl'IC German P z I<w 38 (t) ; t h e second is a heavy tank, P z K,rv VI, whic:h appearel action early this year. T h e short 7.5 cm gun formerly mounted in t h e P z K u ,,,,, ,now appewed on an alternative version of t h e Pz ICw I11 (see Plate 7) andl on a turretless 8-wheeled armoured car (see Plate 17).
