Un-Cookoff invites aspiring eaters and chefs On July 11, Hanover County Parks and Recreation will host the Tomato UnCookoff. Competitors will uncook off head-to-head to transform the famous Hanover Tomato into tantalizing tomato recipes. All underground chefs (supper club, private/caterer and competition chefs) and above-ground chefs are welcome to compete. Suggestions for dishes could include: salsa, bruschetta, tabbouleh, caprese salad, tomato sauces or perhaps a delicious stuffed tomato. see UN-COOKOFF, pg. 4

When nominations are received on May 14 for an appointment to the Mechanicsville seat on the Hanover County School Board, supervisor Canova Peterson said he knows it won’t be an easy choice. It’s Peterson’s first chance to select a School Board member from his district, but he’s well acquainted with the current member and the job he’s done.

Glenn Millican has served 24 years on the Hanover County School Board and is willing to serve more when a new representative is selected in July.
