MECHANICSVILLE — Longtime Hanover County School Board member Glenn Millican has announced that he will seek election to the Hanover County Board of Supervisors from the Mechanicsville District. Millican, who served on the Hanover School Board for 24 years, said he is most concerned about how the current board of supervisors has handled Hanover’s law enforcement, emergency services, county schools, long-term finances and growth. “These are service MILLICAN areas that impact every person’s life, often in dramatic and catastrophic ways” according to Millican. “We must reinvest in the critical functions of our county government that support citizens’ needs, desires and security. MECHANICSVILLE — Del. Christopher K. Peace will seek re-election as the Republican nominee for the 97th District in the House of Delegates. U.S. Rep. David Brat (R-7) complimented the delegate for his conservative leadership in Richmond and his thoughtful approach to representative democracy. A delegate since 2006, Peace is frequently rated one of Virginia’s most business-friendly conservatives. He said his focus remains on opposing tax increases, PEACE protecting family values, defending the Constitution, and promoting job creation and a high quality of life in Hanover, King William and New Kent counties. Tuition policy at issue with out of county students By Jim Ridolphi for The Mechanicsville Local ASHLAND— Two students recently were removed from Hanover County Public Schools for violating the system’s policy on out of county attendance

and tuition costs associated with those students. And, they may be only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to out of county students attending Hanover schools at taxpayers’ expense. The two students in this
