Lawler has announced her candidacy for the 97th District seat in the House of Delegates. “This November marks the first time in nearly a decade that the House of Delegates race in the 97th District will be a competitive one,” she said. A longtime Hanover resident, Lawler moved to the county from Northbury Farm in New Kent. She attended the first Governor’s School for Agriculture at Virginia Tech in summer 2001, graduated LAWLER from Lee-Davis High School in 2003, and received her Bachelor of Arts from Virginia Tech in May 2006. “Although I am not a lawyer, I have worked in a regulatory environment since taking my first job after college as a contracts assistant at an international health nonprofit.
