HANOVER – The Hanover County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved a $440.5 million Fiscal Year 2018 budget last week. The new budget addresses pressing Fire/EMS issues, bolsters
the Sheriff’s Office, and provides initial funds required to revamp the school system’s technology and information systems. Vice Chair Sean Davis, Henry District, said this year’s budget is “the best one I’ve seen in the five years I’ve been here.� But, Davis and other members of the board are express-
ing reservations regarding the approved budget’s inability to address vital road issues in the county. State funding cuts for road building prompted the county’s Community Development Board to suggest options to see ROAD, pg. 7
