Veterans to be honored during annual program HANOVER – Brigadier General William Jones USAF (Retired) will be the keynote speaker for the annual Hanover County Memorial Day Program, which will get underway at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 28, at the Hanover Veterans Memorial lat Hanover Wayside Park on U.S. 301 about a mile north of Hanover High School. Veterans who have served and are currently serving to insure our freedom will be honored. The invocation and benediction will be offered by Rick Raines, senior pastor at Fairmount Christian Church in Mechanicsville. The National Anthem will be performed by the

ECHANICSVILLE – “We’re taking care of our neighbors.� That’s how Mark Gordon, chief executive officer of Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center, describes the hospital’s role as they prepare to celebrate 20 years of serving the community. Community is a word Gordon uses often, because he is quick to praise the support shown for the medical center. He also talks about his appreciation for the EMS providers and first responders, as well as “our nurses, our medical staff and our community.� “We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, and in two short decades Memorial Regional is one of the top 50 hospitals in the nation.
