Gill named Region 1 Superintendent of the Year ASHLAND – Dr. Michael Gill, superintendent of Hanover County Public Schools, has been named the 2019 Region I Superintendent of the Year by the Virginia Association of School Superintendents (VASS). “We are proud to have Dr. Gill represent Region I as our Superintendent of the Year. He is most deserving of this recognition due to his leadership in the region, as well as the innovative instructional initiatives that he has led in Hanover County, such as the Classrooms of the Future.
