1964 FORD GALAXIE 500 HARDTOP
R-CODE 427/425 HP, 4-SPEED, BODY-OFF RESTORED BY RENOWNED FORD EXPERT DONALD ALLEN
The horsepower wars were well underway when in 1964, Ford answered Chevrolet’s 409 and Chrysler’s 426 Hemi with a new engine for its full-size Galaxie 500: the now rare and desirable R-code 427/425 HP V-8, which was offered in standard form with a 4-speed manual transmission. The shining example offered here was restored several years ago by renowned Ford expert Donald Allen of Clarksville, GA, who retained its original color scheme of M-code Wimbledon White on a code
72 Bright Blue bench seat interior. The engine compartment is home to a fully detailed dual quad-equipped 427/425 HP engine with cross-bolt main bearing caps and all the other correct pieces: high flow heads and exhaust manifolds, Perma-Tune transistor ignition, coil and distributor, aluminum intake manifold, chrome valve covers and cast aluminum “oval” air cleaner. Optioned with power windows, tinted glass, remote driver’s mirror, bumper guards and AM radio with rear seat speaker, it also incorporates a 3.50
rear end, rare and correct 15x5-inch Kelsey Hayes steel wheels with full wheel covers, NOS mufflers and all the correct hoses, clamps, chalk markings and more.

1991 LOTUS ELAN SE
1.6L/162 HP, 5-SPEED WITH LESS THAN 7,000 ORIGINAL MILES
Simply put, the 1991 Lotus Elan SE is a terrific sports car. Following the practice established early on by Lotus founder Colin Chapman, the Elan is built on a steel backbone frame, giving it incredible torsional rigidity and the consequent superb handling inherent in that design. But the Elan departs from its kin in one very important respect: it is the only front drive Lotus ever made, a fact that initially displeased some in the automotive press but that proved to be one of the car’s best attributes, as it was soon
dubbed “the finest front wheel drive car in the world, bar none.” Its Izuzubuilt turbocharged 1.6 L/162 HP inline 4 engine is a smooth runner with ample torque always on hand, and a 5-speed manual gearbox gives it maximum flexibility on twisty back roads. Only 559 were produced for North America, making this sleek Yellow SE a genuine rarity. With a clean Carfax and fewer than 7,000 miles on the clock, this car is perfect for the beginner collector or to complete your Lotus collection.

1956 CHEVROLET CORVETTE RESTO MOD CUSTOM BUILT 283/325 HP, 4-SPEED, 4-WHEEL DISC BRAKES
The broad appeal of Resto Modding continues to spawn beautiful machines like this 1956 Chevrolet Corvette convertible which, in addition to its modern upgrades, incorporates a number of subtle visual touches. Not immediately evident are the new Jim Meyer Racing Products front and rear suspension pieces that include a 4-link located Ford 9-inch rear, tubular front A-arms and rack and pinion steering, coilovers and 4-wheel disc brakes. The NACA-ducted hood flips forward to reveal a fully-dressed 283/325 HP small block packing a
Comp Cams bumpstick, 327/365 HP heads and a 750 CFM Holley 4-barrel on an aluminum dual plane intake and backed by a Hurst Competition Plus-shifted Muncie 4-speed. Of course, it’s the body and interior that turn heads, and there is plenty to see beginning with the car’s lip-smacking House of Kolor Sunset Pearl acrylic lacquer. A removable hard top, Z06style rear brake scoops, a 1955 Corvette rear bumper, ’59 Cadillac taillights, C6 Corvette exhaust tips, one-off CNC-sculpted “Z56”- and crossed-flags emblems add a full
serving of interesting exterior details, the quality of which is repeated in the custom interior complete with Billet Specialties steering wheel on an Ididit column, ultra leather seat covers, power windows, Vintage Air and more Sunset Pearl paint on the dash. 1966 CHEVROLET IMPALA CONVERTIBLE
RARE 427/425 HP, 4-SPEED WITH POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES AND SOFT TOP
In 1966 big cars still ruled the American road, a fact driven home by Chevrolet’s production of over 1.3 million full size cars ranging from the baseline Biscayne to the new luxury Caprice. The SS package was still going strong across the Chevrolet model lineup, the best seller being the V-8 powered Impala convertible. In addition to over 60 factory options, Impala SS buyers could choose from five different engine displacements and five different transmissions. There was an Impala SS for every taste, but few were built to match the performance inherent in this
handsome Ermine White convertible, which issued from the factory with the new-for-1966 427 CI big block V-8. Rated at a healthy 425 horsepower thanks to its aggressive cam, Holley 4-barrel carb with aluminum intake manifold and heavy duty four bolt mains, it is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission backed by Chevrolet’s sturdy 12-bolt rear axle. Fully restored at a cost of $75,000, this rust-free Southern car also features rare power steering and power front disc brakes and a snappy two-tone Turquoise bench seat interior with clock and AM/FM radio. 2007 CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO US ARMY #01 NASCAR
$75,000 - $100,000
DRIVEN BY MARK MARTIN TO THE UNFORGETTABLE HISTORIC PHOTO FINISH AT THE 2007 DAYTONA 500
• CAMPAIGNED DURING THE 2007 SEASON • BECAME INFAMOUS AT THE DAYTONA 500 • THE CLOSEST DAYTONA 500 FINISH SINCE THE FIRST RACE THERE IN 1959 • INCREDIBLE PIECE OF NASCAR HISTORY • SOLD ON BILL OF SALE
NASCAR fan favorite Mark Martin drove this Ginn Racing/DEI 2007 Monte Carlo to finish in second place at the 2007 Daytona 500 an almost imperceptible .02 second behind winner Kevin Harvick. Martin was leading the race in his U.S. Armysponsored #01 Monte Carlo when Fortune intervened to once again rob him of victory in the most prized race in NASCAR. Martin, Kyle Busch, Greg Biffle, David Gilliland and Elliott Sadler began the final lap nose to
tail, maintaining those positions until Harvick began gaining on the lead with a run on the outside. A wreck ensued right behind the pack as it exited Turn 4, and when NASCAR officials decided not to throw the yellow, Harvick beat Martin to the line by .02 second in one of the wildest finishes in Daytona 500 history. This is the very same Mark Martin U.S. Army #01 Monte Carlo that took second place in that race, the closest
Daytona 500 finish since the historic first race there in 1959, when it took three days to declare Lee Petty the winner. A landmark machine that will add stature to even the most exclusive collections, the car is presented in full #01 Army livery exactly as prepared for the 2007 Daytona 500, complete with the authentic Hendrick-built 358 CI Chevrolet small block engine and 4-speed heavy duty manual transmission. 1935 MORGAN THREE-WHEELER ROADSTER
NO EXPENSE SPARED NUT AND BOLT RESTORATION WITH MINIMAL TEST MILES SINCE
A British motoring icon of the early 1930s, this 1935 Morgan F-4 threewheeler has had homes in Hawaii, Northern California and Florida, where it was stored in a shed for approximately 10 years until a new owner took possession of it and treated it to a complete nut-and- bolt restoration to original as-new condition. The entire drive train including its Ford side-valve 4-cylinder engine was disassembled and received a full overhaul using new components as needed. All the Ash
for the frame was either refurbished or replaced in keeping with the car’s original construction. The wings, bonnet, and side panel were stripped bare and then worked to their present showroom condition, and the interior completed in tasteful Tan upholstery to add further flair to this already attention-grabbing British classic. No expense was spared in restoring this piece of history, a fact reflected in the finished product, which has exhibited perfect Morgan F-4 road manners
and performance on Florida highway test runs since the completion of the restoration. Over 500 hours of care and attention have gone into this British charmer’s restoration to full period correctness, and it is fully ready for both spirited driving and exhibition.

1995 FERRARI 355 SPIDER
TWO-OWNER CAR WITH ONLY 17,000 MILES
While it bore a resemblance to its 348 predecessor, the Ferrari 355 was a brand new car that possessed all the virtues of a truly great Ferrari. Over 1,800 hours of wind tunnel testing produced a cleanly-styled body with a Formula 1-style flat undertray and airflow channel to diffuse air upward at the rear, maximizing downforce without the need for awkward-looking wings or spoilers. The heart of the 355 is its 3.5 liter 4-cam V-8 with 5 valves per cylinder, titanium connecting rods, Bosch fuel injection and those
lovely Red crinkle-finish cylinder heads, all combining for an output of 375 HP at a ripping 8,250 RPM. Add Ferrari’s adjustable suspension damping and the Spider version’s convenient convertible top, and you have a magnificent GT car in the best Maranello tradition. Case in point: this rare Silverstone Verde Metallic Spider with Tan top and interior. A two-owner example with just 17,000 miles on the odometer, it has received a $4,000 service in 2012 and comes with a clean Carfax history.

1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO RS/SS LS1/405 HP, AUTOMATIC, TUBULAR SUSPENSION
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS demonstrates how a well-executed Resto Mod build can add punch to an already great performing muscle-era pony car while maintaining an almost total factory appearance; a modernday sleeper, if you will. To begin with, the car’s Cortez Silver and Black color scheme with front and rear spoilers, Black vinyl roof and Rally Sport dress package is the perfect understated look. The Black houndstooth interior follows the same practice, the only departures from original being the
custom steering wheel, Dakota Digital gauges, center console armrest and an extra position on the shifter plate. Besides its Gunmetal Boss alloy wheels and wide low-profile radials, the only other obvious visual departures from stock are the “LSX” fender badges that give away the secret within: an all-aluminum LS1 engine capable of an honest 405 HP and backed by a 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission and a 3.73 Positraction rear end. Cultrac traction bars and frame connectors team
with tubular front A-arm suspension and quick steering for excellent road holding and 4-wheel discs easily haul the car down from speed. Every nut and bolt on this Resto Mod RS/SS is new, and with just 600 miles since its completion, it is ready to provide years of unbridled fun.

One of fewer than 300 built with the exotic Ram Air III 400/360 HP V-8, 4-speed manual and air conditioning, this 1970 Pontiac GTO was built very early in production and is documented with a build sheet that suggests it was ordered by a Pontiac factory executive. Expertly restored with extensive use of NOS parts by a lifelong Pontiac enthusiast and experienced GTO collector/restorer, it is finished as original in Starlight Black with a handsome Tan interior. The original Ram Air III engine was bored .030
over and new TRW forged pistons were installed on reconditioned rods, the rotating assembly was balanced and every clearance checked before final assembly. The transmission and suspension were likewise rebuilt to factory specs and a complete Gardner exhaust system with stainless steel hardware was installed. The air conditioning compressor and assembly were also reconditioned by an outside expert. These and countless other details have produced a very solid and desirable Ram Air III GTO that
is a pleasure to show and drive, with documentation that includes the build sheet and PHS records.

1957 CHEVROLET BEL AIR CONVERTIBLE 350/295 HP, FRAME-OFF RESTORATION
While most cars described as “Resto Mods” tend more toward being “modified” rather than “restored”, this gorgeous 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible takes the opposite approach, having been restored to appear factory original while benefitting from mechanical upgrades for increased performance and driveability, an approach that intrigues even diehard purists. This is a firstrate restoration, maintaining stock appearance with stupendous Red paint and glittering chrome and brightwork, a Black convertible top and an entirely
factory-correct Red and Silver interior. The only outward departures from stock are the chromed wire wheels; even the wide Whitewalls are right – why mess with perfection? It’s in the mechanicals that the changes appear, and they work: a late model 350/295 HP small block in full dress, a 350 Turbo automatic transmission, power steering and power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes combine for excellent performance and handling to go along with the ‘57’s timeless beauty .

1951 STUDEBAKER COMMANDER CONVERTIBLE 232/120 HP, 3-SPEED, OFFERED AT NO RESERVE
Studebaker’s fortunes were in the ascendant in the post war years, producing highly individualistic styling under the direction of Virgil Exner and Raymond Loewy, the latter of whom was responsible for automotive history’s most unique creations, the “bulletnosed” front end that emphasized the 1950-51 lineup’s airplane-inspired New Look. Competition amongst the Big Three spawned numerous important engineering advances that prompted Studebaker to improve the car beneath its unique skin, introducing
coil spring front suspension and a new high-compression overhead valve V-8 engine that put Studebaker ahead of the pack. Even automotive journalist “Uncle Tom” McCahill gushed, “This powerplant transforms the maidenly Studie of recent years into a rip-roaring, hell-for-leather performer that can belt the starch out of practically every other American car.” Even so, an overdriveequipped Commander won the 1951 Mobilgas Economy Run, averaging 28 MPG over 840 miles. With that fine legacy behind it, this 1951 Studebaker
Commander convertible is an all-time postwar American classic. Nicely finished in handsome Rio Green, it has a clean Beige cloth interior and is equipped with the 232/120 HP V-8 with a manual 3-speed transmission.

1941 CADILLAC SERIES 62 4-DOOR SEDAN 572/800 HP, FUEL INJECTION, TURBO 400 TRANSMISSION
Generations have passed since the 1941 Cadillac Series 62 first embodied the ultimate in style and power, concepts taken to a whole new level in this freshly completed and very impressive Series 62 4-door sedan. The first hint at this Caddy’s true nature is in the amount of rubber wrapped around the custom Budnik billet aluminum wheels tucked into those accommodating wheel wells – Hoosier Pro Street tires out back, BF Goodrich T/A Radials up front - but that’s just the beginning. An Art Morrison box frame provides the foundation for
independent front suspension and a 4-link Morrison rear end that give the big Caddy a sure-footed ride. Nestled up front under the Cadillac’s expansive hood is a sea of chrome and polished aluminum, in the center of which 572 cubic inches of GM big block crate engine uses Hilborn fuel injection, custom stainless steel headers and 3-inch exhaust to power 800 horses through a Street and Strip Turbo 400 automatic transmission; reliable Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes handle the job of reining it all in. The largely stock interior provides a calm place to
relax and enjoy cruising in this vintage Caddy Resto Mod, its Custom Classic gauges and Hurst shifter the only visible departures from a traditional mix of rich Grey upholstery and beautiful burled wood. It’s a great study in contrasts, with only 1,791 miles since its completion and generations of more good times ahead.

Inspired by the revolutionary 1939 Lincoln Zephyr-based custom “Scrape”, this hand-built street rod is one of approximately 50 replicas produced under license by Speedster Motorcars using the original Deco Rides molds made by Scrape designer and former HOT ROD Magazine Editor Terry Cook. generous proportions and decided street-rod vibe with a luxuriouslyappointed interior. 1969 DODGE CORONET CONVERTIBLE
383/575 HP, AUTOMATIC, MOPAR MUSCLE COVER CAR IN FEBRUARY 2007
This 1969 Dodge Coronet convertible will be familiar to readers of Mopar Muscle Magazine, where it was the subject of numerous how-to articles during the course of its restoration by owner and MM Technical Editor Dave Young. The car was first introduced in the September 2005 issue, where it was used to test Detroit Locker’s new True Tech limited slip differential and Moser heavy duty axles and 4.30 gearset, laying down 0-60 times of 1.74 to 1.80 in the process and demonstrating the considerable power of its stroked 575HP big block
engine. Another story in the same issue showcased the installation of a new stainless steel exhaust system by Stainless Works and new tips from The Paddock “to add a stock look to our not-so-stock big-block Coronet.” It was back in the December 2005 issue to demonstrate the art of panel replacement, and in January 2007 was shown being prepped and resprayed in its original F5 Medium Green using brilliant BASF Diamont base/clear coat. The completed car is a classic looker with a luxury Tan bucket seat interior, power steering and a power

1937 CORD COFFIN NOSE SPEEDSTER
HAND BUILT CUSTOM ELECTRIC CAR, ALUMINUM BOXED FRAME
Street rodding is all about innovation, but this 1937 Cord replica takes that tenet to a whole new level of creativity. Hand built on a boxed aluminum frame, the car is in form a virtually exact replica of the timeless American classic designed by Gordon M. Buehrig, but it contains a crucial engineering difference made possible only by time and technical advances: it is driven by a TransWarP electric motor coupled to an automatic transmission and driving a heavy duty Chrysler 300 rear axle capable of handling the torque inherent in such a device. The
result is the incredible acceleration enabled by the motor’s instant torque generation and a smooth and quiet driving experience, enhanced by 4-wheel coilover independent suspension. More than a technical exercise, this is also a beautifully finished showpiece wrapped in luminous Lamborghini Orange paint with a rich Cream Ostrich leather interior. Representing an investment of over $200,000, this intriguing blend of art and automotive innovation is a uniquely impressive vehicle that will enhance any collection. THURSDAY

1960 CADILLAC SERIES 62 CONVERTIBLE
390/325 HP, AUTOMATIC, ORIGINAL WESTERN KANSAS CAR WITH ONE REPAINT
After a decade that saw Cadillac experiment with increasingly ostentatious styling, the Division opened the1960s with cars like this Series 62 convertible. While still massive in proportion to almost any other car on the road, the 1960 models radiated a new air of elegance with cleaner front and rear treatments and lowered tailfins that signaled the evolution to more conservative styling. Even so, cars like this 1960 Series 62 convertible were still the most regal machines on the road and still hold a special place
today. A Western Kansas resident, it is a very original example, with a rust free body given a single repaint in handsome Hampton Blue. The original matching bright Blue leather interior – with Cadillac’s usual array of power accessories and creature comforts - and White soft top complete the car’s inviting presentation. This very nice, straight and well-kept car is powered by Cadillac’s silky-smooth 390/325 HP V-8 backed by an automatic transmission, with power steering and brakes adding to the car’s already high comfort quotient.

This Resto Modded 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible has it all: the classic looks of that great Tri-Five vintage, the joys of a custom interior and the power of a modern GM powerplant, all in a car that has “the ability to handle curves like a slot car, stop on a dime and accelerate like a rocket” thanks to its underlying secret – a professionally CAD engineered replacement chassis from Art Morrison Engineering. Noted for supporting a variety of power plants, the AME frame has been fitted in this case with an LS2 Corvette engine in full show trim, including dual Edelbrock
4-barrel carbs on a polished inline aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock oval air cleaner, serpentine belt drive system and polished aluminum valve covers – all combining for an output of 550 horsepower channeled through a 5-speed manual transmission. With handling enhanced by tubular A-arm suspension, power steering and power Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes and wide radials on large diameter American Torque Thrust wheel, the car’s two-tone Candy Blue and Silver paint scheme is reflected in the finish of the interior that abounds with quality

The car’s sculpting and chrome add an edgy elegance to this color combination; Buick fans will

1992 FORD THUNDERBIRD BILL ELLIOT NASCAR
DRIVEN BY BILL ELLIOT IN NASCAR’S MOST DRAMATIC SEASON FINALE IN ATLANTA ‘92
In a season marked by typically hot competition on the nation’s paved ovals and superspeedways, Bill Elliot joined Junior Johnson’s Budweisersponsored team to drive this 1992 NASCAR Ford Thunderbird. Elliot took the car to 3 poles and 5 wins, 4 of which he piled up in the four consecutive weeks that constituted the month of March, at Rockingham, Richmond, Atlanta and Darlington respectively. Promoted by sponsors Ford and Budweiser as the “Birds of Prey”, Elliot and his Thunderbird
remained at or near the top of the points chase until the final race of the season, the Hooters 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. No less than six drivers remained in contention for the Winston Cup Championship, but it finally came down to a battle between Elliot and Alan Kulwicki. Elliot scored a bittersweet victory in that final race, finishing second to Kulwicki in the Championship by a scant 10 points, the narrowest margin in the sport’s history. A force to reckon with through the very last lap of that exciting 1992 Winston
Cup season, the Bill Elliot-Junior Johnson Budweiser Thunderbird will always occupy a special place in NASCAR lore.

2009 CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06
SUPERCHARGED 427/780 HP, 6-SPEED, RADAIR CONVERSION
There is no holding back this 2009 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, which has been expertly transformed to its fullest potential as a serious machine for both road and track. Its LS7 427/405 HP aluminum powerplant now generates a healthy 780 horses through the addition of an SLP 4-lobe supercharger, and the driveline reinforced by blueprinting the 6-speed transmission and differential and adding an RPS triple disc carbon clutch and DSS 1400 HP half shafts. A Ron Davis Racing radiator and auxiliary oil
cooler keep temps under control, while handling and braking are enhanced with Pfadt adjustable coilovers and sway bars and Brembo 6-piston front and 4-piston rear brakes. First-rate accommodations are the only way to go in a supercar, and RadAir filled the bill with a custom interior using a carbon fiber-trimmed steering wheel, pillar pod with boost and fuel pressure gauges and Yellow-on-Ebony leather upholstery that reflects the custom Cyber Grey exterior finish trimmed with custom graphics and airbrushed
art. A Supervettes ZR1 3--inch wide rear fender kit and carbon fiber ZR1 front fenders house extra-wide Pirelli P Zero tires on Forgeline wheels, with a carbon fiber front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser and APR wing generating extra downforce. Addendum: This car carries a prior salvage title.

1969 FORD MUSTANG BOSS 302 FASTBACK
302/290 HP, 4-SPEED, ORIGINAL AND UNRESTORED WITH ONE REPAINT
Built to homologate the Mustang for the SCCA’s new Trans Am racing series, Ford developed the 1969 Boss 302 based on the experience gained in the GT-40 racing program, essentially designing a racing engine capable of 500 HP and then detuning it to 290 HP for the production version. What really made the Boss 302 a star on the open road was its remarkable handling, the result of an order by Ford President Bunkie Knudson to make it “absolutely the best-handling street car on the American market.” Sold new by Latham
Motors of Latham, NY, this 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 is an incredible unrestored example with a single repaint on all original sheet metal. Finished in Bright Yellow with a Black standard Mustang interior, the car is in remarkable condition, with the original undercoating still in place and no visible signs of rust. The car’s original 302/290 HP engine has been replaced with a warranty block; all other components appear to be correct and accounted for, making this a prime candidate for the collector who values high originality.

This sharp 1965 Corvette convertible Resto Mod was the brainchild and personal driver of Ralph Eckler, the man who almost singlehandedly created the budding Corvette aftermarket industry fifty years ago. Dubbed the “Ralph Eckler Signature Corvette”, it is constructed on a new 1963-67 tube chassis by Street Shop that has been powdercoated in Blue and equipped with the fully independent suspension, power steering and 4-wheel disc brakes from a C4. A C5 Z06 all-aluminum LS6 346/405 HP
engine replaces the original unit, and is mated to a Tremec T-56 Magnum 6-speed transmission with a Hurst short-throw shifter. While the body is strictly stock – and beautifully finished in glowing Nassau Blue – the car now rolls on CCW chromed aluminum billet wheels using Michelin Pilot Sport tires. A new Bright Blue Al Knoch custom interior is just the ticket, with special headrest embroidery, new hardware and electronics for the custom Whiteface gauges and original clock. 1937 FORD F85 PICKUP
350/350 HP ENGINE WITH DRESS-UP KIT, VINTAGE AIR, BODY-OFF RESTORATION
Almost 190,000 light trucks rolled off the Ford assembly lines in 1937, but none looked as good as this tastefully rodded long bed pickup, which has been through a body-off restoration that saw a few goodies installed along the way. Cloaked in deep Black paint with new clearcoat, it is accented with stylish Red pinstriping on the body sides, engine cover louvers and tail gate and a richly finished Oak cargo bed. It takes a nicely raked nose-down attitude thanks to staggered-size tires on vintage style wire wheels tricked
out with chromed spokes, center caps and trim rings on Red-painted rims and hubs – an old-school touch that works perfectly on this otherwise stock-appearing ’37. The flathead engine originally represented by the “V” badges on the engine side covers has given way to a 350/350 HP Chevy small block backed by a floor shifted automatic, and engineered leaf springs, front and rear sway bars and power brakes afford much-improved handling. Pleated Tan upholstery, power windows, Vintage Air, billet

First-generation Camaro convertibles had more than a touch of class about them, especially generously-equipped examples such as this very attractive 1969 RS/SS396, a car whose almost formal good looks make it as much at home at the country club as it is cruising along the boulevard. But don’t let those looks fool you; the Super Sport side of this car is centered in its period-correct 396 CI big block engine. Endowed with a 10.25:1 compression ratio, high-lift hydraulic cam and Rochester 4-barrel carburetor, it delivers a healthy 350 horsepower
to a Hurst-shifted Muncie M21 closeratio 4-speed manual transmission, with power steering, power disc front brakes and special suspension along for the ride to take full advantage of that performance. Beneath the 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R’s Performance Red paint is an equally red-blooded performance machine. In fact, Ford Special Vehicle Engineering manager John Colloti made sure that unless a piece contributed to the R’s performance parameters, it was not going to make the cut. Gone were the sound deadening, insulation, radio, back seat and air conditioning that are standard on virtually any production car; so was the Mustang’s standard 4.6L engine, replaced by a hand-built 5.4 L
Triton modular V-8 engine generating 385 horses and 385 lb/ft of torque. A Tremec T-56 six-speed joins the fun along with specially calibrated 4-wheel independent suspension, vented Brembo disc brakes, 18-inch alloy wheels with sticky BF Goodrich G-Force tires and firmly-bolstered Recaro bucket seats. 1978 CADILLAC ELDORADO BIARRITZ UNTOUCHED TIME CAPSULE WITH 51 ORIGINAL MILES
The final full-sized Cadillac Eldorado was built in 1978. To commemorate that milestone and bid farewell to the second generation body style, Cadillac partnered with American Sunroof Corporation (ASC) to develop 2000 special 1978 Eldorado Custom Biarritz Classic cars. The Custom Biarritz Classic was identical to the Custom Biarritz, with the exception of duo-tone pillowed leather interior in Light Beige and Dark Saddle, Dark Beige Leather steering wheel jacket, two-tone exterior finish in Arizona Beige with Demitasse Brown Metallic accents
on the hood, doors, and roof, Dark Brown accent striping, and gold-plated “Biarritz” script on the sail panel and deck lid. An unrestored time capsule driven just 51 miles, this 1978 Custom Biarritz Classic is one of the most luxurious Cadillacs ever built. The list of standard features was enormous, encompassing full power accessories, automatic climate control, Soft Ray tinted glass and 4-wheel disc brakes; this immaculate example from a private collection is also extensively optioned with a 6-way reclining power front seat, door edge guards, tilt-
telescopic steering wheel, carpeted floor mats, rear window defogger, cruise control, Guidematic headlight control, illuminated passenger vanity mirror and thermometer and AM/FM stereo radio with tape player. Simply amazing.

1956 CHEVROLET BEL AIR HARDTOP ORIGINAL 265 CI, AUTOMATIC WITH 66,000 MILES
A full frame-off rotisserie restoration was completed on this 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air hardtop coupe in February of 2008, immediately after which it went right out and won the Platinum First Place Award at the 2008 Winter Nationals in Kissimmee, FL. Still in fabulous condition and showing a believed-original 66,000 miles on the odometer, this is a truly great-looking classic Tri Five Chevy that gleams in two-tone Matador Red and Dune Beige, a wonderfully evocative color pairing that repeats in the car’s interior, which features
seat belts, an AM radio, day/night mirror, tissue dispenser and added air conditioning. The 265 CI 4-barrel engine, Powerglide automatic transmission and rear end are all original to the car and likewise factory fresh and correct, as are both the power steering and power brake systems. “Spectacular” is the word that best describes the quality of fit and finish throughout this car; materials are crisp and new and the paint, chrome and brightwork inside and out positively sparkle; a colormatching sunshade and Continental
kit, chrome bumper extensions and full bright trim add even more allure to this fine ‘56.

1931 FORD MODEL A STREET ROD
MAY 2012 HOT ROD MAGAZINE COVER CAR, DIESEL ENGINE
It took builder Jeff Madden about a year to transform his 1931 Ford Model A Fordor sedan into this extended-cab shortbed pickup truck that many will recognize from the front cover of the May 2012 issue of Hot Rod magazine. Madden began the project by placing the body and the Brookeville Roadster short pickup bed on the floor of his garage, shortening the cab until the proportions suited his eye and then building a frame to match. Perhaps the truck’s most unique feature is its Cummins 4BT turbodiesel engine, which originated in a Fritos delivery
truck and then served a tour of duty in Madden’s ex-Army tow truck before getting a thorough cleanup for its new digs. Backed by a 400 Turbo automatic and a 2.41 10-bolt rear axle, the bulletproof little Cummins returned 41 MPG during a trouble-free 6,000 mile trip Madden made with his son Kevin from Charleston, SC, to the Bonneville Salt Flats for Speed Weeks and across another 21 states. The trip ended in Madden’s home town of Titusville, Pennsylvania, next to Oil Creek, where the truck got its name. It was the site of the first oil drill, and the
Oil Creek Petroleum Co. was a real company. Also featured in numerous other magazines and calendars, this homebuilt Retro Rebel has been has been invited to the 65th Annual Hot Rod Home Coming on March 23–24, 2013, at the Fairplex in Pomona, California.
