Councils today need more than a charter on the wall to operate

David Gelinas

State Advocate State Accountability Officer

Worthy District Deputies, Grand Knights and brothers, I have previously released the results on May 14th, but this report may reach a wider audience, so I’ll report it again. The results of the resolutions from our virtual 2021 State convention are as follows: Resolutions #1 – #9, #10 & #19: Adopted and referred to Supreme Council Resolutions #11, #12, #15, #16, #17 & #18: Adopted and referred to State Council Resolution #13: Defeated Resolution #14: Withdrawn and the State Board will review in the future once they can provide a financial cost after the widespread financial hardship in the insurance industry created by the pandemic. There are letter campaigns related to some resolutions which can be found in the convention booklet appendix. Councils are encouraged to participate with this letter campaign for the resolutions that were adopted including #15, #16, #17 & #18 which correspond with appendix B, C, D and E. Please use these sample letters. Keep in mind resolution #13 was rejected therefore appendix letter A should not be engaged by councils. We live in litigious times and I’ve stated in the past reports that councils today need more than a charter on the wall to operate. They also require to be Safe Environment compliant with all four required officers and have liability insurance protection. If you haven’t already, please read my report in the State convention for some other important information. I am humbled by your trust to elect me these past four years as your State Warden and State Advocate, and I look forward to serving with the responsibilities of State Treasurer for the 2021 – 2022 fraternal year. I personally welcome brother Henry Miller to the State Board as our new State Warden. Please continue to pray to Jesus our Devine Saviour and our Devine Healer for good health for everyone and for an end to this health pandemic and the restrictions placed upon us. Even though many others will never accept it and will outright reject this statement. God is good, God is love. God is truth. Fraternally,
