CHOOSING A SCHOOL IS AN IMPORTANT DECISION FOR YOUR CHILD AND YOUR FAMILY.

Townsville Catholic Education schools provide safe and welcoming environments for children of all ages. With a strong focus on student wellbeing, inclusion and excellence in all pursuits, our school communities are vibrant, proud and highly regarded within the wider community.

Townsville Catholic Education schools include Primary, Secondary, Prep

to Year 12 colleges and Boarding colleges. With 29 schools spanning north to Ingham, west to Mount Isa and south to The Whitsundays, our Catholic schools offer some of the best learning experiences and opportunities for students across North Queensland. While Catholic schools are not public schools, they also are not private schools.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS ACCEPT STUDENTS FROM ALL FAITHS AND DENOMINATIONS. DIVERSITY IS AN OPPORTUNITY AND A GIFT.

Townsville Catholic Education schools are very affordable. Fees may be less than you imagined, and family discounts, bursaries and other financial support may be available.

Townsville Catholic Education would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work, and pay respect to the Elders, past, present and emerging, for they hold the memories, the traditions, culture and hopes of First Nations Australians.

EXPERIENCE Belonging

EVERY STUDENT DESERVES TO FEEL SAFE, SUPPORTED AND LOVED. BY CREATING WELCOMING AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENTS, WITH FRIENDLY STAFF, CATHOLIC SCHOOLS ENSURE STUDENTS KNOW THEY BELONG.

Students spend 13 years at school, from Prep to Year 12. The best way to make the most of our vibrant and welcoming schools is to feel connected to peers and part of the school community. This sense of togetherness, belonging and feeling included, encourages students to engage in classroom experiences and lunchtime play – both of which are essential to student wellbeing and a quality education.

way through to the teenage years, our Catholic schools safeguard student wellbeing. We celebrate diversity and work with schools and staff to ensure students feel culturally safe within their learning and school environments and ensure learning includes important topics to students of all ages such as resilience and protective behaviours. We also offer education for parents in relation to cyber safety and how to apply parental

controls to help parents protect their child’s safety in an online environment.

In situations where students feel unsafe or there are concerns about their safety, teachers and staff work with Townsville Catholic Education’s Student Protection department to manage these matters, provide referral pathways when needed, and connect schools and families with resources and external support required.

Students are at the centre of all that we do, whether that be supporting educational goals, promoting positive post-school pathways or guiding them to be good citizens in a contemporary world. Every student is unique, and that means each students’ journey through school will also be unique.

For secondary students contemplating life beyond the classroom, our focus is on providing students with

THE Dedication

A PLACE WHERE STUDENTS FEEL SUPPORTED, WHERE TEACHERS CARE AND WHERE OUR VALUES THAT ARE STEEPED IN THE CATHOLIC TRADITION HELP STUDENTS PREPARE FOR LIFE BEYOND SCHOOL – THAT’S A CATHOLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION.

At every stage of schooling, from the early years through to primary and secondary school, our dedicated Catholic school teachers strive to create a community of care for all students. The values of justice, faith, equality, inclusion and peace are steeped in our Catholic tradition and instilled into the curriculum. A faithbased education engages the whole child – when students feel supported and engaged, they are able to reach their full potential. Catholic schools integrate spirituality into everyday life, and do so across all

areas of the curriculum; on the sporting fields; in social justice programs: school liturgies; prayer and meditation time. Embracing

EXPERIENCE OUR Difference

WITH STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES, EXPERT TEACHERS, AND A FOCUS ON EDUCATING THE WHOLE CHILD, CATHOLIC SCHOOLS ARE BUILDING THE COMMUNITY LEADERS OF TOMORROW.

While Townsville Catholic Education schools have a strong reputation for academic excellence, our core focus is to deliver a holistic education for all students.

Every student’s ‘best’ is different, just as they are. Our goal is to create the ideal learning environment for each student – one that engages, challenges and extends. Our Catholic schools provide access to excellent facilities

and vocational education training (VET) options. Our schools have professional and passionate teaching staff that contributed to a supportive community where students benefit from excellent opportunities. These opportunities extend beyond just academics, to include all aspects of development – social, spiritual, cultural, environmental, sporting,

EXPERIENCE Your Best

SUCCESS AT CATHOLIC SCHOOLS IS ABOUT STUDENTS REALISING THEIR POTENTIAL. THAT CAN COME IN MANY FORMS, BUT WE KNOW THAT FAITH, LOVE AND A STRONG COMMUNITY, HELP STUDENTS DISCOVER AND ACHIEVE THEIR BEST.

Being ‘the best you can be’ is difficult to measure. We know that success isn’t just about academic scores or school sporting awards. In order for students to be their best, they need to contribute positively to society, support and care for others, and be part of something bigger than the individual.

Teaching religion supports a holistic education. Our schools embrace the importance of community which encompasses connection, inclusion, social

justice, respect, equality and peace, and the practices of spirituality such as meditation, prayer and liturgy. These elements elevate the education experience, support children socially, and prepare them for life beyond the classroom.

Our passionate teachers and school staff work to provide opportunities for each child
