School Centenary ■ Our Master, RWorBro Geoffrey Davey reminds us: “The School Centenary is now only 1½ years away and I am determined to direct the Lodge to ensure it extends itself wholesomely and wholeheartedly to assist both the School and the Lodge in celebrating Buckley's bold vision, which he unashamedly told us as boys he hitched to the stars.” ■ History Note: Our Lodge is an offshoot of Ivanhoe Grammar School. It was founded by the Headmaster, the Rev. Sydney Buckley. His vision for a Masonic Lodge developed out of his career as a Freemason during the 1930s but was put on hold because of World War II. His original vision was for a school for his choir boys, which numbered 12 in 1915. The school now educates some 2300 over three campuses.
Thanks Val Jones ■ A special word of thanks to Val Jones, of Cadets Administration at Ivanhoe Grammar School, for her ongoing assistance with much of the Lodge paperwork, preparation of Minutes, and mailing of monthly Summons.
