Abaco Lodge sits on the rocky shoreline of the Marls on the west side of Abaco, just north of Marsh Harbour on the way to Treasure Cay. Enjoy a cold Kalik in the pool as you watch the sun set after a day of fishing and tell fishing stories by the oceanside fire pit in the evening. The lodge consists of eight air-conditioned private rooms with private bath, a fully stocked bar, pool, sitting room, an outside fire pit, and patio space. The Marls encompass more than 400 square miles of flats on the west side of Abaco. The lodge is centrally located directly on the Marl side of the island with access to them all. It would take a lifetime to fish the entire Marls alone but Abaco also offers some incredible fishing on the eastern ocean side of the islands as well. Cherokee Sound, the Bight of Robinson and Snake Cay are minutes from the lodge and offer opportunities at incredible but challenging bonefish. Restrictions: Trip MUST be booked within 30 days of Hope Ball 2011 and must be taken no later than May 14, 2012. Airfare, gratuities for guides and house staff, laundry service, flies, terminal tackle and other fishing equipment are not included. Special Thanks: David Denies Wingshooting Value: $7,300

Childrens art project The butterfly is a symbol of freedom. Each butterfly, like each special child, is unique, beautifully complex and eternally free to live a life rich in experience and filled with the hope of adventure. That hope, that wish for unconditional freedom, is the inspiration for this year’s Children’s Art Project — a 50” x 32” collage painting of individual butterflies banned together with the single message of Hope. This original, one-of-a kind watercolor on canvas will hang beautifully in your home or office as a reminder of our mission — to find a cure for type 1 diabetes and it complications and, to forever live free. Fund A Cure Join us in our quest for a cure through the unique giving opportunity of Fund A Cure. Immediately following the Live Auction, the room will be stilled and the story of hope will unfold; we call this special time Fund A Cure. During Fund A Cure, you will have the opportunity to donate directly to research and fund the science that will transform the lives of our friends and families living with type 1 diabetes. This year all proceeds from Fund A Cure will support one of JDRF’s most promising areas of research, the Beta Cell Therapies Program. Last year, JDRF directed $35 million to researchers working to restore the body’s insulin-producing ability and cure type 1 diabetes — either through the regeneration of insulin-producing cells or the replacement of beta cells. Your support of the Beta Cell Therapies Program through Fund A Cure will enable us to pursue our mission to find a cure for type 1 and its complications through the support of research. Fund A Cure works in the following manner: • Immediately following the Live Auction, the auctioneer will announce funding levels of $25,000, $10,000, $5,000, $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250 and $100 • When you hear the level or levels at which you wish to support Fund A Cure, raise your bid card and hold it in the air until the auctioneer acknowledges your number. • Please participate at the highest level possible to honor Toni & Tim Clark and Wendy’s/Pisces Foods. • Proceeds from your 100% tax-deductible Fund A Cure contribution will be directed to the Beta Cell Therapies Program in honor of Toni &Tim Clark and Wendy’s/Pisces Foods. • Many companies will match employee contributions to JDRF. Please check with your employer to see if your donation to JDRF can be matched, which will double your Fund A Cure commitment. Through the generosity of JDRF chapters and branches worldwide, Fund A Cure contributions since 1994 have totaled over $125 million.

Freedom from type 1 diabetes lies within your support! Thank you for your dedication to deliver the message of hope. 31
