expansion bolt Two common types of expansion bolts used in CPI
HEAVY-DUTY UNDERCUT ANCHOR Removable nut and washer; threaded rod stays in sleeve. Some undercutting anchors require the use of a special undercutting drill bit; others use carbide-tipped anchors that cut into concrete without the need for a special drill bit.
SLEEVE ANCHOR Removable bolt that can have a variety of head designs. A universal anchor for light- to medium-duty applications that is especially useful in masonry.
Note that in CPI we use simpler generic fastener terminology, for example, expansion bolt, expansion anchor, plug and screw. Check with the editor!
