Step In Time

Director: Federico Fellini Starring: Marcello Mastroianni, Anita Ekberg and Anouk Aimée Fellini’s masterpiece charts seven days in the life of journalist and manabout-town Marcello, as he struggles to find meaning in a life that is descending into moral decay. Set in swinging Rome, La Dolce Vita is a stunning example of Fellini’s storytelling prowess and acute sense of visual verve. From the image of Christ flying high above the papal city, to Ekberg cavorting in the Trevi Fountain, the film is a feast for the eyes, as well as acting as a magnet to the moral compass. Winner of Best Costume Design at the 1961 Academy Awards. THE BIG PICTURE: Nico, who later found fame with the Velvet Underground, plays herself in the ‘party of nobles’ scene.
