Roll up for The Tiny Travelling Tightwire Show! Local arts commission Poppet wants to show you the delights of her tightwire skills but she is shy and needs your help and encouragement. A fun and entertaining roaming tightwire show for all ages incorporating Poppet the puppet and Alana Jones, one of the UK’s leading tightwire artists in the UK. Strictly Dumb Prancing With more than a smidgen of mischief, an over-sequinned couple combine skilled acrobalance with dubious tango skills.

Come and play with Sparky, the Imagination our Nation puppet Come and meet Sparky, Medway’s own Imagination our Nation puppet, who will be wandering the riverside all afternoon. A young Sparky was first introduced to Medway during last year’s festival. Discover a world that is shaped by where you wander and by the music that has changed your life. This stunning piece of theatre, from the internationally-acclaimed Periplum, needs you, the audience, to bring it to life.

Meanwhile, in Capstone and Cliffe… Periplum returns to Medway after it’s successful performance of Arquiem at Rochester Castle, during the finale of the 2008 Fuse Medway festival.

The Doctor’s Daughter Capstone Farm Country Park, Saturday, 19 June 4 to 6pm Cliffe Woods, Sunday, 20 June 4 to 6pm Created especially for Fuse Medway Festival, this is a funny, dramatic and family-friendly tale of trickery and infatuation, inspired by Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well. Helen is in love but with the wrong boy. She has a cunning plan and arranges things so that he has to marry her. But is she clever enough to keep him and can she decide if she really wants him after all?

1000 Revolutions Per Moment has been created specifically for Gillingham, celebrating its people and places and to find out what lies at its heart.

Cornfield

SPARK Local arts commission

Open viewing: Sat, 19 and Sun 20 June, 12noon-4pm, Hundred of Hoo School On the outskirts of Medway there is a deep-rooted farming community that is often forgotten. Cornfield is a dreamlike, walkthrough exhibition that will plant the topic of local agriculture back where it belongs, in the foreground. The visual feast, created by Matt, Lucy and pupils from the area, will take place in the school environment, accompanied by insights into the reality of farming life. www.cornfieldproject.wordpress.com Matt and Lucy have been curating exhibitions together for two years through local arts organisation Moogie Wonderland, but this is their first collaborative installation.
