SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Jason Salkey
(Rifleman Harris) Life at the Sharpe end - a talk about acting in the hit TV series 21 July, Chatham Library
Welcome to this new version of our events calendar. It's packed full of activities to entertain people of all ages throughout the summer. We have taken a new approach to our quarterly events leaflet, turning it into a booklet because we have a great deal going on that we want to tell you about. Besides the events taking place, we have included the opening times and addresses for our libraries, as well as some of the other services on offer. We hope you like the new design and layout and that you find it easy to use. Libraries have so much to offer you, our residents. From the regular events we hold for children to the special activities that are organised for families and talks for adults, there is much to choose from. With free use of PCs that have internet access, an ever expanding range of console games, DVDs and the introduction of blu-rays to our libraries, there has never been a better time to visit one. With 16 to choose from, as well as the mobile and children's mobile you are never far away from a library. And of course, we have thousands of books, including the latest titles. This summer, there is lots to choose from. Some highlights include the talk by Jason Salkey at Chatham Library about his time spent on the Sharpe TV series in July; the Summer Reading Challenge for children, which this year is called Space Hop and promises to be exciting and the chance to try out a comic workshop at Strood, Chatham and Gillingham libraries. It's free to join a Medway library, so pop in this summer. We value what our customers have to tell us and your feedback helps us shape the activities we provide.
