Margo Selby: Pick by Pick In a crossover exhibition with Rochester Art Gallery and The Huguenot Museum, Margo Selby will be showcasing her hand-woven framed textiles along with an archive of her design work and the processes behind it. The collection of artworks are created using a technique called Lampas. Lampas is a term for a woven structure that was developed in the 17th century and used by Huguenot weavers to create decorative brocade fabrics. Margo is using these weave structures in a new way to create simple geometric works with a modernist feel. Since moving to Whitstable in 2012 Margo has been heavily focussing on her art practice creating hand-woven framed works exploring how colour and structure unite. This colourful exhibition showcases the portfolio of work Margo has created in her 15 year career as a textile artist and designer. Invitation Meet the artist at the opening reception of Pick by Pick on Thu, 14 Dec, 6.30-8.30pm, no need to book all welcome.
