The Silk of 1000 Spiders This is your chance to get involved in a large scale outdoor performance event for October 2017, at Fort Luton. Spanning over 150 years of local history, The Silk of 1000 Spiders is inspired by the true stories of the invisible labour force who have shaped our landscape and lives. From the sailors, convicts and workhouse inmates who helped build Fort Luton, to today’s migrant workers. The Silk of 1000 Spiders brings to light Medway’s untold stories and forgotten lives. We are looking for actors, singers, dancers and musicians to take part. For more information phone 01634 813179, email sarah@icontheatre.org.uk, or visit www.icontheatre.org.uk An Icon Theatre project, in partnership with Medway Council. Pigmental Recent works by renowned abstract painter Karl Bielik. Karl’s paintings emerge from the studio after many months being teased from nothingness via a process of dialogue between the artist and his materials, working on up to 30 paintings at a time the painter shifts his time and focus between them in an attempt to catch them off guard and reveal themselves. The exhibition includes Sunday which was shortlisted for the John Moore’s Painting Prize 2016. The exhibition will include handmade books, drawings and prints in the craft case by John Bently of Liver and Lights Books.
