CORPORATE ANNIVERSARY YE ARS
Meek’s Lumber & Hardware celebrates 95 years in business, backed by family values that have led to success since Charles C. Meek Sr. founded the company in Missouri in 1919. Meek’s expanded to California in 1947, and today President Carrie Meek represents the fourth generation of family to take the helm. She oversees the 12 Western Division stores throughout Northern California and Nevada and works alongside her father Bill Meek, who serves as Chairman of the Board. Tradition runs deep at Meek’s – second and third generations of employees and customers have helped build the company’s history. “We serve construction professionals including homebuilders and remodelers who trust us to take care of them on every aspect of their project,” says Carrie Meek. “We also serve individual homeowners who may be building a deck or remodeling a kitchen by providing
the products they need with a tenured staff offering the one-to-one customer care they appreciate,” says Meek. Customers choose Meek’s over traditional lumber yards and big-box stores thanks to Meek’s specialists’ expertise and the lifelong relationships they’re able to build. Meek’s also serves contractors by keeping employees trained on new building codes, such as a recent seminar on new energy code requirements in partnership with PG&E. “Our business is driven by serving customers and providing jobs in our communities. My great grandfather passed that philosophy down through the family – it’s our legacy. We are stewards of a business that provides expertise to contractors so they can maximize their ability to take care of their families now and for the next 95 years.”
