TAHANANG PILIPINO ADOPTS GAMES New Tribu Signs Up Tahanang Pilipino Aotearoa Trust, a registered trust organisation in New Zealand, has adopted LINGAWDUWA as one of the major events in its calendar this year. Trustees Oscar and Miriam Batucan (Sto Nino Trust), Cora Noblejas (Capo), Agnes Granada (Earth Action Trust), and Mel B Libre (TawagAwit) with the support of advisor Dr Tony Noblejas unanimously agreed to the programme that had attracted a growing number of Filipinos in the past two years. Tahanang Pilipino has shifted its focus from that of constructing a building to serve as a Filipino Community Centre to becoming a supporter and a catalyst of activities that promote the Filipino culture and that benefit Filipino migrants in New Zealand. In another development, a new team, TRIBU DABARKADZ has confirmed its participation in the competition. Tribu leader Honey Rasalan emailed the organisers: “Yes our Tribu is participating. I am still in the process of organising my tribe members but definitely we will be having the 15 members required.” The following teams had earlier signified their interest: TRIBU MACHONG BABOY, TRIBU SA BARANGAY PUTYUKAN,TRIBU SIGBING GAHAYANG, TRIBU BANGGIITANG HARINGBUANG, TRIBU GUAPO OG GUAPA, TRIBU IGOT IGOT, TRIBU IRONG KAGIRON, TRIBU ITOY SA IRONG KAGIRON, TRIBU IBALON HADIONG URAGONZ, TRIBU TIKING KWANGGOL and TRIBU KUTSERO nzpbc. Four team slots are still available to complete the 16-team contest. A tribu can be organised by clubs, families, barkadas or other informal groupings. Non-Filipinos can join a tribu. Please email: librelaw@yahoo.com The following benefactors have pledged the gift baskets for the team contest winners: Banal Family Trust, Julie Valencia, Mr & Mrs Leo Ramirez, Dr Tony & Cora Noblejas, Nida Gray and Oscar & Miriam Batucan.
