LEARN: Types of motion and motion transformation This is a D.I.Y (do-it-yourself) educational science kit that provides useful knowledge about simple physics. “You'll be amazed” to learn realistic concepts of basic physical theory through exciting activities.

How it works? ? ? ? ? ?

Insert 2 pcs AA size batteries in the battery compartment. Turn the switch on. The car will start moving. At the same time, you can hear the beeping sound. You can adjust the direction of its path by adjusting the direction of the front wheel.

Caution: ? Do not short-circuit the battery terminals and spring connectors. It may cause overheating. ? Do not lock the motor or other moving parts. It may cause overheating.

Science behind gearbox and rotatory motion: Spin N turn Racer is a car with front wheels for controlling the direction, and rear wheels connected to the gearbox for power. This resembles a “Rear Engine Rear- wheel Drive” car. In Spin N Turn Racer, the gearbox's rotary force is divided into 2 output motions. One is the rotary motion of the rear wheels which makes the car move; another one is the forward and backward motion which makes the beeps. This makes the racer runs with beeping continuously.

Do you know? How Rotary force makes Helicopter flight? In order to counteract the force generated by the earth, some other force must be created. A helicopter uses rotary motion to create the necessary force. Rotary motion is the easiest way to keep something in continuous motion. A series of thin blades of equal size are connected to a central shaft, like on a ceiling fan, and engine drives the central shaft.

01

The Main Rotor The lifting force is produced by the rotors. As they spin they cut into the air and produce lift. Each blade produces an equal share of the lifting force. Spinning the rotor against the air causes lift, allowing the helicopter to rise vertically or hover. Tilting the spinning rotor will cause flight in the direction of the tilt.

The Tail Rotor The tail rotor is very important. If you spin a rotor using an engine, the rotor will rotate, but the engine and the helicopter will try to rotate in the opposite direction. This is called Torque Reaction. The tail rotor is used like a small propeller, to pull against torque reaction and hold the helicopter straight.

How to connect: Follow the below steps as figure shown. 1• Slide the beeper pusher (10) into the provided slot on the chassis(08). Then put the beeper (09) at the front end of the chassis (08) so that the beeper pusher (10) is firmly held in its position.

2• Insert the gear cap (07) into the provided hole at the back of the chassis (08).

3• Put the gearbox (06) onto the chassis (08). Make sure the gear shaft sticking out from the gearbox (06) must be able to be inserted into the hole of the gear cap (07). If not, adjust the orientation of the gear cap (07) so that they are fitted together.

4• Slide the gearbox cover (11) into the chassis (08). cap (07) so that they are fitted together.

04

5• Insert the wheel with the long shaft (13) into the long side of the shaft with gear (12). Then insert the wheel with the short shaft (14) into the short side of the shaft with gear (12). This makes the back wheel unit.

6• Place the assembled back wheel unit by fixing into the 2 holes on the bottom of the assembled chassis (08).

7• Now insert by closing the 2 back wheel covers (15) to the back wheels.

8• With the final assembled unit fix it onto the box base with holes (04) as figure shown.

9• For the front wheel part fasten the front wheel (16) to the front wheel holder (17). Next, insert the assembled part of the front wheel to the front wheel support (18). Then clip the front wheel support (18) to the side with indent surface of the box base with holes (04). side of the shaft with gear (12). This makes the back wheel unit.

05

10• Insert ON/OFF switch (02), battery compartment (01) onto the box base with holes (04). Also install 3 spring connectors (03). Narrow end down, and push the spring as far as it will go. 11• Connect two black wires to spring (a). Then connect the red wire from the gearbox (06) to spring (b), and as well connect a red wire from the ON/OFF switch (02) to spring (b). Finally, connect the other red wire from the ON/OFF switch (02) to spring ©. Consequently, the red wire from the battery compartment (01) should be connected to the same spring.
