Open Career Day MPH On our Labranda Hotels Open Career Day event we presented not only our next season job openings, but also we presented our Group, our company’s culture, Employer Brand and we gave good vibes to both passive and active job seekers. We gave the chance to all visitors to ask any questions they may have regarding group presence and our ways of operations as well as they all had the opportunity to discuss with the Head of Departments regarding specific roles.

Open Career Day was a great way for informing the locals about our Company, attracting candidates and expanding our pool with the right job candidates.

Yearly blood donation within MPH There’s no end to the benefits of donating blood for those who need it. According to the Hellenic red cross donation can save as many as three lives, and someone in the Greece needs blood every two seconds. Every year, near the end of season we organize in cooperation with Public Hospitals a blood donation within in MPH all over Greece. Each year we manage to add more than 20 blood units to our bank. During the process our colleagues get the chance to be informed about blood donation and its benefits from the hospital doctor, as it turns out that donating blood doesn’t just benefit only recipients. There are health benefits for donors, too on top of the benefits that come from helping others. We take the chance to thank our colleagues for their support and consideration on this important cause!

Listening to HR voices

Listening to HR voices 1. Which do you consider the biggest challenges for MPI in your region? Perhaps the biggest challenge is managing HR protocols when the possibility exist of conflicting priorities within the three (3) countries that I oversee. Each destination deserves proper attention; and thus, it is more than just a matter of multi-tasking, but of assessing the issues at hand and communicating the regional priorities to senior decision makers in each destination to ensure that their expected level of service is delivered. 2. How would you define your MPI experience in one word? And why? Eclectic. HR responsibilities are in themselves diverse and wide-ranging, this becomes a little more intriguing when tackled in the context of multiple countries.

Eric Nieves Regional HR Manager

3. Can you share the most inspiring employee success story you have experience in MPI? Teammates are very receptive and productive when they feel valued and appreciated. And, one of my responsibilities is to develop protocols and programs that support that perspective. The existing positive labor environment is an achievement realized by both the leadership and the staff. This success is a credit to each employee’s effort and dedication to each other and the company.

Listening to HR voices 4. Can you share some insights about challenges in recruiting in different countries? The recruiting challenges are mainly due to employment laws, employment levels, and culture. And, these are quite different in each country. In addition to a statistical full-employment in the US, recruiting is also very systematic. This includes a requirement for specific language for job postings. In addition, we must define questions to be asked during interviews. Conversely, in Mexico and the Dominican Republic the process is more liberal. Another challenge is how to leverage what works in one country to the other destinations but still adhere to the applicable legal parameters of each country. 5. Which are the most effective recruiting channels in your region? There are multiple channels, and each with different success’ rates. Employee referrals work very well and is a cost-effective tool. In addition, postings in job sites and external recruiting services for unique positions have produced positive results. Eric Nieves Regional HR Manager
