Recommended Precautions COVID-19 (WHO) Over the last few weeks Diversy, our partners have been working around the clock to bring us the most up to date outbreak information on the SARS-CoV-2 (Coronavirus) and COVID-19 Disease.
Diversy continues to monitor updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to ensure information is as up to date as possible utilizing their team of professionals and other people in the Infection Prevention community. For further information we strongly suggest to watch the precautions video from WHO or visit their website in regards to COVID-19. The latest update that Diversy have to share on the novel coronavirus, is that recently the name has changed again to better reflect the pathogen. Now named the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), which causes the disease is now officially called Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Youtravel´s Management Team reviewed and enhanced the team objectives to create the conditions that support the growth of team unity and team trust. During the day the team did different activities to upkeep the types of behaviours that lead to market breakthroughs “Moderate risk-taking, speaking your mind and creativity”. Between challenging games, brainstorming process and open discussions the team worked side by side, at the end of the day the team agreed to: “Approach conflict as a collaborator not and adversary; win together and lose together” Speak Human to Human: The team opted to promote positive language and behaviours, we all have different opinions, issues, skills, and that is what makes a team strong. “Recognise the value of others” Replace blame with ownership and curiosity: “own the problem , don’t pass it”

MP Croatia celebrating Rijeka as European Capital of Culture 2020 In March 2016, Rijeka was awarded with the prestigious title of being the European Capital of Culture 2020. Team Members attended the event and celebrated it in MP Croatia´s Office. For this celebration „The Port of Diversity“, aimed to expose a city of culture and creativity for Europe and future. A large opening program took place on the 1st of February 2020, and lasted for 24 hours; which marked a date where the city of Rijeka officially took over the title of the European Capital of Culture. From the early morning hours, the entire city was a single body. Opera Industriale marked the culmination of the evening in which Rijeka represents Freedom, Tolerance, Antifascism and Love. More than 30,000 people attended this Celebration, of which 20,000 gathered on the piers in Rijeka´s Port.

The Sports & Social Committee organized a BBQ New Year, New…wait…Team Members at FTIAS will not change, except that they will become more creative and will do their best to enjoy free time together (these are their new resolutions ). The cold weather did not stop them from kicking a start of the year with another Sports and Social Committee event.
The ingredients for a perfect evening are: a warm bonfire, barbeque, delicious food, crazy music, drinks, and laughter!

Special Oriental Lunch at the Staff Canteen @MPH Malta In order to break the flow of everyday life, MPH Malta decided to organize themed lunch for their Team Members at Fliegu canteen every month. Last month the Team Members had the opportunity to enjoy the specialties of Oriental Cuisine that were prepared with great effort by their chefs. A large selection of oriental specialties could be found at the buffet. Chopsticks were set up instead of cutlery. The atmosphere in the canteen was amazing and the staff enjoyed both food and oriental music in the background. Many thanks to the chefs. Team Members of MPH Malta look forward to seeing what is the next culinary surprise from their chefs.

KITCHEN TOUR @Labranda Lebedos Princess Turkey Since the last season in 2019, the Hotel has 'Kitchen Tours‘ for guests. This initiative has given their guests the opportunity to get to know the world of Labranda´s Hotel kitchens. Twice a month, guests have the opportunity to have their own experiences by preparing all the delicious dishes in the hotel kitchen, performing as their own chefs. Not only the preparation has been a great experience, but also the cost of eating afterwards. Very positive feedback has been received from guests through this initiative.

Organic Farm @Labranda Lebedos Princess Turkey Organic Farm Products: the organic farm has a size of 7.000 square meters. A wide range of fruit and vegetable products are produced in this organic farm. Guests have the possibility to pluck their vegetables and fruits for their open buffet by themselves. Or they can buy them directly. Plant Tree For Repeat Guests: the Hotel had the idea to allow guests to plant a tree, which was very well received. Special Black Wheat Bread: This year the Hotel came up with something new for their guests. In addition to their Biofarm, they have used the adjacent property to create a very special bread: ‘Special Black Wheat Bread’. Through this cultivation, the hotel is able to offer guests a total of 32 self-grown organic breads at the buffet every week.

MP´s Universal Core Practices MP´s 10 Universal Core Practices were launched in 2018 in order to strengthen the need to have a stable foundation of practices that we all demonstrate consistently and effectively group-wide.. FTIAS Learning Management System - NEST The Process, Management and Training Department have been kept relatively busy in the last few weeks, as they have been giving training to all the operational teams on how to use the recently launched Company Learning Management System, known as NEST. Through NEST staff members are now able to access interactive courses, absorbing the required knowledge, and testing the new material with increased flexibility.

Sharing inspiring stories Can you share with us a your experience in MP so far? In 2014 I joined the FTI Group as a Junior Accountant to take care of MP Youtravel accounting, in which I developed into an Accounting Manager within the same Department. In January 2019, I moved on to take the position of CFO in Meeting Point Malta, and have been serving this role since then. It has been a fantastic journey, working both on the tour-operator side and DMC side which allowed me more to understand the bigger picture and gain knowledge beyond just the accounting. Through these 5 ½ years, I have met many different people within the group who helped me develop my knowledge further and be able to take over the current role that I do. How would you define your MP experience in one word? And why? Extraordinary. My experience so far has been so because I have been exposed to various areas of the group and it has been quite an interesting one. During this experience, I have met so many incredible colleagues from whom I learnt a lot, and also the management team is always there to support and guide us in the right direction.
Which do you consider the biggest challenges for MP in your region? Resources – it is becoming challenge to attract the right quality/experienced personnel. For tourism, Malta is becoming less attractive due to “Price vs Quality” with other countries, therefore we need to constantly come up with attractive & different ideas. Can you share the most inspiring employee success story you have experience in MP? For me, the reform of MP Malta in the last year has been a successful story by each and every employee here, because together the teams have rebuilt strong foundations which will enable us as a company to grow and be able to compete with our competition.
