Accountability The high relevance of Accountability was stressed out in the last PowMac and HR Webinar. Accountability is paramount for all of us as we are are the experts/specialists in our areas; this shall be cascaded to all Team Members across our MP Companies, Departments and Roles. All Team Members within the MP Family shall be accountable by relating their function and responsabilities to each other in order to drive the different components to achieve the financials and tasks that have all committed to achieving as individuals, teams, MP Company and MP Family.

Local Commercial Managers Structure in DMC´s The criticality and urgent need of setting in place the Corporate Blue Print of the Commercial Structure in the DMC´s has been stressed out during the past year in order to avoid compromising daily sales due to lack of a proper structure.

Santa‘s Box Week Initiative@ MPH Malta In order to celebrate the International Christmas Cards Day which was on the 10th of December, the MPH Malta Human Resources Department has organised Santa’s Box Week initiative in order to awaken Christmas spirit amongst the employees. The box was placed in the canteen and every TM had an opportunity to post Christmas cards to their colleagues. After a week, the box was opened and Santa’s Little Helpers delivered all the cards. Every Christmas card elicited a lot of smiles and spread joy among all TMs.

Christmas Staff Dinner @ MPH Malta Another Christmas Staff Dinner was organized at MPH Malta last Christmas. MPH Malta like to celebrate with their employees. Big variety of food was presented at the buffet in the Mirasol Restaurant. Chef Reuben Grixti, F&B Manager Robert Mac Donald together with the HR team, were leading their Management team who were serving the Team Members. Plenty of positive energy, good music and entertainment was in the air. All Team Members had the opportunity to participate in the raffle and win many valuable prizes.

Annual Staff Party @ MPH Malta The best way to start the new year is to throw a party for team Members to show them appreciation for their work.

The Human Resources department of MPH Malta hosted an amazing party for all the Team Members. This year it was held at The Mellieha Holiday Centre, a beautiful place with wonderful surroundings and very good food. The atmosphere was incredible and everyone was proud to say that this party was a huge success‌ looking forward to hosting many more of them in the near future!!!

WOW…What a Party in Makadi Hotel, Egypt The Makadi Complex celebrated another year of success, with their most important asset “Their Team”. The event included: • Recognition certificates were handed out for best: Initiative, Departmental Performance, Departmental Trainers, L&D, Upselling Team and Grooming. • Everyone was a winner in this party and received support from the team and partners.

LAL Language Centres – Pathfinder Project 2020 The LAL’s ‘Pathfinder’ course at the Labranda Mares Marmaris Hotel, Turkey started in January 2020. This course has been designed especially for MP and other employees in the tourism sector who requires English skills training. LAL has sent over a group of highly experienced teachers to deliver the course which will ensure that the participants greatly improve their skills and job performance. The aim is to not only improve the language skills of the team members participating but also the customer service they offer to the guests and in turn the guest experience as a whole. So far feedback has been extremely positive: ‘I am very happy that we can really learn very successfully’ ‘I feel good to have this training’ ‘I love my Teachers they are very nice, helpful and teaching us very clearly’

LAL will be running this course again with new participants in February and in March and are very much looking forward to it. Planned participation of Team Members MP Entities in Turkey January

Sharing inspiring stories Can you share with us a your experience in MP so far? I started working for the Company in 2011, as PA of the CEO, during this first experience I had the opportunity to keep in touch with all the aspects that are behind the management of a Hotel, discovering a "world in the world" . After one year I started to support the CEO specifically with HR activities, as the department needed a reorganization. Together, day by day, we have transferred to everyone the awareness of how important it is to involve the HR in all procedures in order to build and maintain a successful organization. In the meantime, MP Calabria was transformed into MP Italy, quickly going from 10 to more than 90 employees in the high season, and this required a structured HR organization. Today I’m the HR Manager in charge for MPH Italy and MP Italy. Since last year the HR Team has been growing with the arrival of a new colleague, Elita Pomillo and I am very happy to have her precious support for the payroll activities. The Department takes care of all aspects of HR for almost 230 employees between MPH Italy and MP Italy.

How would you define your MP experience in one word? And why? A Mission! I love my job and my desire is that it is the same for all team members and colleagues too. Every day I’m in deep contact with different People and Roles, I tiptoe into their lives, listen to their aspirations, support them with their difficulties and empower their strengths. My goal is to make sure that the “right people are in the right place”, expressing their attitudes and contributing with their best performance. I have been doing it with the same passion since the first day, strongly believing in the training and talent development.

Sharing inspiring stories Can you share the most inspiring employee success story you have experienced in MP in your Destination? I have been lucky to have Giovanni Imparato as a Mentor, who built his success from scratch, with his own strengths. He has more than 40 years of experience and has always been generous by carrying his experience across. He has fully transferred me both, the importance of the efforts and constant commitment in order to build a serious and lasting path over time. Which do you consider the biggest challenges for MP in your region? The most important challenge that I have faced working in the HR field of both companies has been to transfer and empower the idea that “we are one big family”. In this journey, communication plays a key role, I strongly believe that the right information, given at the right time and shared with the right people, can make the difference. Even if the Hotel and DMC are located in the same building, I have immediately supported the importance of organizing continuous meetings to share suggestions, projects, solutions. The first time I had Hotel and DMC colleagues with me at the same table it was a small but big victory! Which are the most effective recruiting channels in your region? LABRANDA Rocca Nettuno Tropea and MP Italy represent an example of seriousness and professionalism in the area and that is why we receive many spontaneous applications. Universities and Schools are a very important recruiting channel for us: we are always present at University Career Days and at the Recruiting Days in Schools as well. Cuban Lobster

Ingredients:

Instructions:

1 Lobster 3 Oil tablespoons 1 Garlic Cloves 1 Green Chives Tablespoon ½ Cup of White wine Some Salt, White Pepper 1 Tomato Sauce tablespoon 1 Fish Broth Cup White cooked rice

Clean the lobster and cut raw in half. Fry the lobster with oil and well chopped garlic and chives. Include the white wine. Season the lobster with salt and pepper, and let the sauce simmer. Once the lobster is soft, add the fish stock, letting it cook until it thickens the sauce. Serve the lobster with white rice. It is served hot, accompanied of white rice.
