Taiwan is a relatively small island with many modern transport options, so that local travel for business or pleasure is very easy, affording ready access to unlimited possibilities.
The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) extends 345 kilometers along the west side of the island, whisking passengers from Taipei in the north to Kaohsiung in the south in just 90 minutes. Currently there are eight stations on the THSR with another four planned.

Taipei MRT provides a very cheap and convenient means of transport and is rated one of the best in the world for its unparalleled levels of punctuality, reliability and cleanliness. During rush hour, the MRT is usually the fastest way to travel in the Taipei metropolitan area.

You can find those yellow cars everywhere on the streets, and most drivers are trained to handle basic English conversation.
