EDITOR’S Note
I
ts been over four years now since the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content (NOGIC) Act was passed into law with the assent of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Nigeria's President, on April 22nd 2010. No doubt, alot has happened afterwards, testimonies abound, we see a lot of indigenous participation in the industry today, Nigerian companies now own and operate vessels etc. Indeed many have applauded the performance of the Nigerian Content Act, for its transformational impact on the industry. According to reports, the policy has attracted investments worth more than $5 billion from indigenous companies, but it is not without challenges, Pita Ochai examines the performances amid challenges in the last four years. We'd like to introduce our Guest Columnist for this edition, Mr. Ritch Wingo. He is the Director, Oil and Gas Advisory for PwC (Price Waterhouse Coopers), based in Lagos, Nigeria.
