He’s saying do for yourselves what you can do and let Me do the rest. Leave the outcome to Me. The next morning I was up at 4am and I got a Facebook message from someone I barely knew, just a Facebook friend. It said, “It’s not your job to feed the 5,000, it’s only to bring the loaves and fish.” I asked him why he sent that to me. He said he didn’t know, God told him to. I almost thought someone had a camera on in our room when my wife and I talked. It was really a miracle. But it was clear that as long as I was doing what was right, I needed to only worry about my part and let God worry about the outcome. It was that philosophy that allowed me to be open to all the crazy decisions that happened with The Chosen, such as doing it through crowd-funding.

How can you be a part of this great movement to make Jesus more known? First, you can pray. to stand up for Christ, or hide our faith and just do what everyone else is doing. We each get to choose what our life is going to represent. Buzolic’s analogy fits: “When you sit in an exit row on an airplane, all they ask you is, ‘Are you willing and able to assist in case of emergency?’ And that’s all we really need to do with God. He comes to us and says, ‘I will use you in the emergencies of other people’s lives, and the emergencies of communities, people in need, as long as you’re willing and able to assist in that.” There is a spiritual emergency around every corner in this industry. Thank God He sends those who are willing to assist. Russell Wolfe, producer and founder of Pure Flix, noted that movies need to “reaffirm with people why they believe what they believe.” Much of the unbelieving world sees Christianity as an outdated myth, a crutch for the weak. They don’t understand the power of a personal

THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS
BY NISSI GUIAO
James Love is a fresh, young artist, a singer/songwriter with an incredible story of hope. We had the honor and privilege of interviewing him shortly after the 10-year anniversary of the day he nearly lost his life in an assault. His story of forgiveness and redemption is much more than a compilation of nice words. He shares his authentic relationship with the Father. And there’s a richness in the statements he makes in recalling the struggles he’s faced over the years since the incident that nearly took his life. We invite you to see what he has to say about his decade-long journey and we hope you’ll be encouraged when you hear this intimate story of how God made real beauty from the ashes in the aftermath of the darkest day of his life.

He said to me, "Jenene, your concerns are not my concerns. My concern is my bride. I'm looking for my bride who is willing to prepare herself and willing to pierce the darkness." He then concluded with, "I'm coming back very very soon." Needless to say I dropped to my knees and was sobbing on my living room floor. My husband was in the other room and came in to find out why I was buckled on my knees in tears. I explained that I had just had this encounter and the only way I could describe it––it marked me. It ruined me forever for seeing life the same way. It left me feeling an incredible urgency for the Church to wake up because we have a lot less time than most people think.

Knowing people is the key for us.” In learning this, he says “I started talking to every customer.” Then, the question arose, “Why don’t you do your best (which isn’t much) and then God will do the rest?” From that point on, something clicked. “I changed my whole attitude about work,” he says. “Since then,

Taro’s perspective is not one we normally see, especially in the restaurant industry. Numbers talk and tend to be the guiding force toward more success, but he has remained faithful in following God’s lead on how to do things. From that lesson in 2009 he says, “We changed our mission statement to be the ‘most loved’ restaurant in the world. We don’t have to be the best; we just want to be loved by God [and] loved by people. . .that’s the key for success. That’s why we [chose the name] Kaizen. We had to keep reminding ourselves.” Since that shift in heart, Taro’s impact on his community continues to heighten. The remarkable thing is that this man does not quit. Instead of focusing on temporal things, he understands the importance of self-care and self-improvement. He does his best to tackle the hard things deep down on this inside of him. He shares that he “used to be short-tempered. . .hard-headed” so he says “I started praying to God to give me happiness in my heart 24/7. And I told him I want to be

the happiest. . .most joyous man ever.”
This movement caught our attention.
Not only that, but when he felt like he’d struck that goal, he kept pressing in for more. After

praying for a new goal, God confirmed truth in his heart and he says “Now I don’t have to choose to be happy, I just have [to ask] God to give me the joy from within. And if I don’t share, I’m going to blow up! So now, every time I go out, I can’t stop sharing.” It’s beautiful to see him live out the message of Kaizen. And if we have the same desire for growth and experiencing abundance, it’s imperative we don’t stop improving. We all have stories and different backgrounds and personalities. What’s awesome is God’s ability to take who we are—fully who He created us to be—and write us into His bigger plan. Taro’s rising success is no accident; we need to be inspired by him and his tenacity to push forward no matter what life throws his way. Whether Taro is catering or slowing down to sincerely connect with his customers or doing his best as husband/father as a devout family man, he manages to keep God at the center of everything. He has seen many highs and many lows, and he understands there will be more to come. But the most commendable thing about Taro is the way he lives empowered to believe in the impossible. No matter what comes, his heart is set on not holding back as he says, “It’s [all] up to Him, but I’m going to keep dreaming. . .”

LIVING IN AWE T
he joys of Christmas morning. The oohs and ahhs in excitement from all the booms and claps of fireworks every Fourth of July. Sweet surprises and celebration time. Pleasant gestures, a bubbling up of the most genuine, contagious smiles. Blissful kisses, heartfelt connections, a strong embrace through all the difficult times.
There’s something about these moments I’ve listed and described. Yet even with them all combined, there’s nothing quite like the heightened encounters I’m picturing so vividly in my mind. A gaze—so fixed on the unnatural, tethered to the incredible—I’ve been ruined for anything less than an incomprehensible delight. My expectations have grown so high because ever since I said “Yes” to Jesus, He highjacked my sense of purposelessness and woke me by surprise. The “Yes” I’m describing, however, is more groomed and intentional than the initial prayer at the altar following a courageous strut down the aisle. It springs from a place much deeper—from the internal battle against my God-given desire to “fully” surrender the entirety of my life.
INTRICATE DESIGN God has always been present and in plain sight. Though for many years, immaturity and deception kept Him too hidden in disguise. It wasn’t until I found myself too desperate and broken down, from years of carrying weights heavy-ridden with stupid lies, that I began to understand that I was helplessly stuck in the wrong fight. His rescue, by design, only solidified the foundational truths planted in me since I was but a child. All these details are important because they’ve become the meat of my heart’s cry. Without letting Jesus infiltrate the ugliest parts of my life, I wouldn’t have the clarity of vision to see and experience what I was always made for—the life-long, day-by-by/ moment-by-moment connection with the Father. It’s a miracle quite divine. See, what I’ve learned since that “Yes” (the best decision of my life) is that there’s not a single moment that passes where I can’t tap into the kind of free-thinking that excites the Father when I submit and try. See, I’ve discovered the life-changing truth that I wasn’t created to “just get by.” This power and presence that I speak from—it’s the indestructible, pure-love, intimate relationship I get to have with Jesus that has long since taken flight.

WHO IS THE DEVIL ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE? BY JENENE STAFFORD
THE DEVIL IS A SCHEMER AND THE RULER OF THE DEMONS WHO WAS CAST DOWN WITH HIS ANGELS FROM HEAVEN AND HAS BEEN SINNING EVER SINCE. HE WORKS TO CAUSE PEOPLE TO SIN, LIVE IN DARKNESS, DIVIDED AND UNRECONICLED TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. HE'S THE ADVERSARY OF CHRIST'S SONS AND DAUGHTERS AND THE TEMPTER OF ALL HUMANITY AND THE ACCUSER OF THE BRETHEREN.

mind-boggling and it's evidence to the absence of basic Christian and biblical teaching, understanding and knowledge. The main M.O. of the Devil is schemer. But there are many more titles and descriptions that make it clear what he is up to. We all need to be fully aware of who he is and how he schemes to keep us from God's plans for our lives. We also need to understand that he is not only out for the souls of humanity, but to destroy the nations. He will work through
government, family, media, religion, etc. Basically anywhere he can influence culture and create distraction, pride, envy, division, blindness and lies—that's what he's up to. The devil represents the entire kingdom of darkness. He rules the other devils that are underneath him.
