Script for our original treatment

(Sarah is sitting at home, by herself, on the phone to her friend Jess. It is dark in her house as it is early evening. The sound of her TV can be heard in the background.) Sarah: Oh my God, Jess you’ll never guess who I thought I saw today. (Brief pause before Sarah talks again) Sarah: Danny! (Brief pause before Sarah talks again) Sarah: I know, I know, but it looked just like him! Where? In the park, on my way home from uni. (Brief pause before Sarah talks again) Sarah: I’m not crazy. It looked just like him. But how could he have found out where I moved to? I didn’t’ even know he’d been released from prison. (She gets up and goes to the kitchen to make a cup of tea. She looks around, cautious.) Sarah: (cautiously) I sure hope it wasn’t him. (Brief pause before Sarah talks again) Sarah: No, I could never go out with him again. He was too controlling. Besides, there’s this new boy I’ve been talking to. (She giggles). Nothing serious yet! His name? Jason. (Brief pause before Sarah talks again. She continues to make her tea.) Sarah: Shut up! I do not go from one to the other! Danny was the last serious relationship I’ve had and that happened over a year ago. (She walks back to the front room and sits on her sofa) Sarah: No stop it Jess you’re scaring me now it’s not funny. It couldn’t have been Danny. (She looks around nervously) Sarah: Anyways, I think I need to get my nails done again you know. (She examines her nails. Then suddenly, she hears a loud disturbing noise come from the hallway. She jumps up, startled.) Sarah: (nervously) Jess? Jess I gotta go. No, no, I just have to do something. (Brief pause before Sarah talks again) Sarah: (elongated pausing between each word) Yeah, okay, I’ll call you later. Bye.

(She hangs up the phone, and slowly walks out into the hallway. She looks around, and then at the ground. She bends down slowly, and picks up a watch. She is confused and scared.) Sarah: That’s odd. I’m sure I gave it back to him. (Suddenly she is grabbed by an unidentifiable character behind her. She screams and struggles as he lifts her up and drags her into another room. The door slams.) (The scene then fades black and the title ‘Ex-Terminate’ comes into view. It then fades to black again and the text ‘two weeks earlier’ comes into view)
