REFLECTION Having embarked on this self-directed project, my process has become freer and it feels less constrained. Producing 10-20 large drawings and collages before refining them for a final design has made the final design process quicker. Before Easter I printed on paper, certain parts of the print were interesting but generally, it didn’t have the qualities I was aiming for - it was too childish. Thus I’ve spent time breaking my process down and stopping myself from making things too figurative. I’ve eliminated the childish character / narrative and given it a more mature edge with a global/ethnic look. This would hopefully appeal to the identity I originally developed - a mature woman with a sense of adventure and a need for the outdoors.
