About the project

This course covers “on challenging of doing thing hich is not alive and we try it to alive it”. “Body As Space” refer to a body that is both subject and an object with powers if being affected and to affect the others”.( Ayas 1998: iii). It includes development of collection of unique garements uisng sustainable techniques to reduce the prevention of treatment of textiles from harmful chemical use. We took up the challenges to create vast possibilities of creating surface textiles by sustainable method and thus implementing into garments with minimal stitches and adding value to it.

Refugees Crisis An unprecedented 65.6 million people around the world have been forced from home. Among them are nearly 22.5 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18. There are also 10 million stateless people who have been denied a nationality and access to basic rights such as education, healthcare, employment and freedom of movement. In a world where nearly 20 people are forcibly displaced every minute as a result of conflict or persecution, our work at UNHCR is more important than ever before.

Health, Science and Technology Brain donation urged by Cardiff dementia research centre Older people in Wales are being urged to think about donating their brains after they die to help scientists researching dementia. Researchers at Cardiff University are not actively recruiting at the moment but are still keen to hear from people aged over 85 without a diagnosis. While they also recruit donors with dementia as healthy brains are needed for comparisons. Donor Ken Baxter, 75, said: “When I’m finished, it isn’t any use to me.” They are recruited through its team at the university, which is working to identify which genes contribute to a person’s susceptibility to developing Alzheimer’s disease. It is hoped they will then be able to predict which people are more likely to get it. But to do this they need to study human brain tissue, as looking at the distribution of protein deposits on the brain is the only way to get a definitive diagnosis of the disease. While donors who have dementia often find out about brain donation from medical professionals, it can be harder to attract those with healthy brains.

“This technology to put sensors on the body to assess which muscle groups work or not can really pinpoint the areas affected by the stroke and can target therapies to specifically improve those issues,” she told BBC News. The sensors continue to send back readings even after she has finished her exercises. This means that her therapist Kristen Hohl, from the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, can monitor her progress at home. “As a therapist, I think about what my patients are doing at home. Are they able to carry through the recommendations I’m giving them as a therapist to do more? Do we see that they are walking more or do we see them engaging in conversations? “Those are the types of things that I can get feedback from the sensors where currently I have to rely on what they tell me they have done.”

The YouGov survey of 2,108 adults in the UK - to mark Eating Disorders Awareness Week - also found 79% were unable to name psychological symptoms, such as low self-esteem or having a distorted perception of weight. The eating disorder charity Beat says low awareness of the early signs of illnesses like anorexia and bulimia is linked to delayed treatment and increased risk of the illness becoming life-threatening. In the early days you will not able to see the symptoms (change in behaviour, sometimes the person becomes quiet and withdrawal) The charity Beat says the main signs to watch out for are:  becoming obsessive about food  changes in behaviour  having distorted beliefs about their body size  often tired or struggling to concentrate  disappearing to the toilet after meals  starting to exercise excessively

Brainstorming

After researchiing from various news, analyzing and compiling the hierarchy of information in all all aspects of current affairs, we began to brainstorm the various keywords from it in a nagative and positive ways. All the current affairs will highlighted in short way to make people aware of the situations and approach it in a positive ways. These current affairs will be higly forecast for the upcoming seasons to provoke the sense of awareness and promote well being of human being.

A New Relationship between Earth (natural world) and Man. Today, the natural world is in a manmade creation. Everything is made up of artificial by adapting and modifying the nature into digitalization and technology and it medicate your very thoughts. All things is becoming “engineered nature” by applying innovation and creative thinking to the most precious sustainable materials of world. Human minds are not limited to the brain and therefore men are able to engineer the materials of nature into usable tools. They are driving to an age where they can exercise environment with self-efficacy, understanding nature’s norms with goals, tasks and challenges.

PATTERN AND TEXTURE

Color Story

“He who wants to become a master of color must see, feel, and experience each individual color in its many endless combinations with all other colors. Colors must have a mystical capacity for spiritual expression, without being tied to objects.- Johannes Itten In this, the process was so fun and challenging. We made all the value of the color according to tint, tone, shade and accent of the same value and arranging according to color wheel to create flow of color through eyes.

Emotions & Time

These saturated tint color with neutral color provoke the feeling of calm, quiet, and sober. All these color are interconnected to each other to create a sense of rawness, texturalistic and naturalistic. All the colors were extracted from the body of nature which provides the contrast colors as well as calm colors. Nature also changes the colors with time. The contrast flower become quiet and sober. The garments are inspired to be sober in the contrast world. The colors give them a new identity. The fabrics are of natural and soft, more open set to give the possibilities of creating bark texturalistic.v

All the surfaces are created by sensing the feel and sight of natural and texture of nature. I tried to explored the possibilites of creating by following techniques: 1. Gathering 2. Stitching With high twist yarn 3. Stitching with 3 layers of different cloth 4. Pulling out the threads 4. Tieing the open set fabric and soaking in hot water 5. Heat set with poly khadi 6. About silhouette development

Choosing the fabric materials and making surface manipulation, we explored the development of silhouette. I tried to make it simple which can be very less stitching, simple pattern, sober trimmings and creating surfaces to add more ornamenatation. Firstly, I research the various silhoutte from a books of world history of costUme and world costume which was really helpful gor me to create a simple silhouette by simplifying and modifying it. After Researching and trying out good silhouette, I began to do final silhouette which can be free flowing, look natural in terms of texture of surface manipulation and the feel of the fabric

Conclusion

After struggling with the challenges of vast possiblities of creating sophisticated garments by doing deep research on various aspects, this gave me insight more about thinking process. This course moltivated me to find on my own way to follow the design process in systematic way. There were a lots of ups and downs in understanding of this course, I felt overenjoyed by fulfilling the challenges. Our faculty Krishna Patel is quite inspiring to me, she really moltivated me in a different direction and gave me encouragement to approach my own ways of understanding. And this gave me a lots confidence and my own identity of understanding. The best thing is happened to me in this course “ I have never stop learning and can explore more experiment.
