Thank you for considering the McNay Art Museum to host your special event. The Spanish Colonial Revival house was built in 1926 by Marion Koogler McNay, an oil heiress, artist, and collector who also had a taste for entertaining and celebrating in style. In 1950, Mrs. McNay generously left her residence, her art collection of 700 works, and an endowment to create the first museum of modern art in Texas.
Nestled atop 25 secluded acres, the McNay offers an intimate environment for weddings. A serene outdoor setting with hilltop views, the front lawn serves as the main ceremony location. Accommodating up to 300 guests, this site offers limitless possibilities for set-up and design.
Begin your reception by welcoming guests inside the museum’s Main Collection Galleries, where they have the opportunity to privately view the McNay’s internationally renowned collection.
The Blackburn Patio serves as the ideal setting for cocktail hour. An open-air space enclosed by the museum, you can share drinks and hors d’oeuvres with your guests as they enjoy the romantic courtyard setting.
When dinner is served, guests make their way inside from the patio into Leeper Auditorium, a 3,400 square-foot room with breathtaking hardwood floors and a vaulted ceiling.
Perfect for a creative vision, the blank canvas of the auditorium can be transformed into any style imaginable. In Leeper, you can seat up to 250 guests with a dance floor.
Spoil your guests with the most exclusive dining experience in the museum. Surrounded by works of art, the Lang galleries offer a stunning setting for small wedding receptions, or rehearsal dinners.
