Lifestyle oriented retail experience with seamless connection to underground transportation hub The project site is located on Lo Wu Shenzhen, adjacent to 2 major residential-only areas. The neighborhood is currently lacking a commercial and civic heart; a place where the community can gather and mix. We have been appointed to create a lifestyle oriented retail precinct with a significant scale office tower, Soho office and contemporary residential homes at this site, at a junction point in the city. The project has completed its basement excavation and will be set to open to the public in 2017-2018.

A sunken plaza is designed at the heart of the development as a focal point for events and a gathering point, as well as a powerful connector of the basement levels with the ground floor retail precincts. Footbridges on the 2nd level provide a traffic-free and weather protected connection to all the office buildings within the site.
INNER RETAIL STREET
A 235 meter tall office tower with over 80,000sqm of office space will become a landmark of this new district.

RIGHT - MLP APPROACH This new City Centre will be built above two future metro lines with direct connections from the transit concourses to its basement. These two metro lines will commence services in 2015 & 2016. To further enhance the integrated transportation advantages of the location, we have planned a public transport interchange (PTI) at the basement level and this utilizes the underground retail arcade as a means to seamlessly connect together the transport elements, the retail and the above ground office towers.

RIGHT - FLOOR PLAN The linear nature of the site poses a very unique challenge to us. Being a long and narrow, we had to look for a creative approach to plan this mall to reduce the overall distance and create a pleasant experience for the customers. We adopted a concept of zoning the project. This gave each zone a unique character which creates a its own environment and experience.

A 740,000sqm development with an unparalleled mix of uses transform the Minhang district. We have planned strategically capitalises on the station traffic and creates a series of seamless connections around the development. With a scheme planned around pedestrians desire lines, the traffic network, the station concourse and a public transport interchange, it successfully forms a new typology of complex development spanning over the existing and new railway lines. This “air rights” development strategy makes positive use of space above transit corridors, whilst also performing a west/east linking function.
Futurescape is a collabora-
tive submission that re-imagines the future fabric of our cities seen through the lens of ‘ Lifestyles in 2050’– the year where technology becomes the background fabric of society. In the 2015 Bi-city Biennale of Urbanism Architecture, we have collaborated with leading lighting design company LPA and interdisciplinary creative group TeamLab, created a short film titled “Futurescape” presenting a vision of the future Hong Kong. The collaboration imagines how the physical fabric of the city can adapt and communicate with us on a personal level, and how urban lighting can play an integral part in creating atmosphere and communication, creating a positive and reactive environment.
