The herd also flourished on the available grass and mid-summer growth. The calves on offer this year are sure to be some of the highest quality best performing bulls we have offered. These calves are not only from some of the leading AI sires, but also some of our very own home raised sires who come 2nd to none in the industry. These are the bulls we felt offered the best genetic potential that will continue our herd, and yours, into the future. Herd problems are minimized with a good vaccination program and excellent management. Heifer and bull calves are vaccinated in the spring and again at weaning with Bovi-Shield Gold One Shot and Ultrabac 7/Somubac (The comprehensive Zoetis calf vaccine program to protect again pneumonia, BVD and Clostridial diseases). At weaning the bull calves also receive Fusogard to protect against footrot. The cow herd receives a scour- prevention vaccine (Scourbos 9) prior to calving as well as a vaccine designed to protect against pneumonia in their calves (Cattlemaster Gold FP5) and Tasvax-8.
