1. What skills have you developed through this module and how effectively do you think you have applied them? I believe that my networking skills have developed slightly as I have learnt more this year during PPP about the importance of it. I think that if I further my knowledge some more then I will be equipped with the ability and skill to appropriately sand efficiently network in a way that best suits my practice. Another skill that I feel has developed in this module is my ability to work within a group. This is something which I have previously not enjoyed as much as working alone, however when working on Studio Brief 3 and putting together a potentially viable business and presentation, I found the time to be enjoyable. Working in a group and having other members relying on me was also extremely motivating which meant that I had better time management as well.
2. What approaches to/methods of design production have you developed and how have they informed your design development process? I believe that I have once again been able to develop my digital design approach. This is a method of design production that I feel I will continue to progress in as my knowledge of the software and ability to use it increases. Another method of design production that I feel developed during this module is my Craft as I feel that it was a brief that required us to think more closely about how a promotional pack could fit together. I enjoyed working out the packaging for the promotional pack and also printing, trimming and forming the collateral as I enjoy working in a hands on fashion.
3. What strengths can you identify in your work and how have/will you capitalise on these? I think one strength in my work is that it is clear that I have identified with the requirements and mandatories of the brief meaning that I have been able to complete them in an efficient way. Another strength in my work would probably have to be the development of my work, particularly with the promotional pack that we had to complete for Studio Brief 2. Because the promo pack was personal it was easy to generate multiple design ideas for the aesthetics. I did find it difficult to choose which idea to go with. However, after developing my ideas and exploring their full potential I feel that I arrived at, and went on to produce, a successful and appropriate promotional pack. This is something that I aim to carry forward in PPP next year but also across modules in order to fully capitalise on these strengths.
4. What weaknesses can you identify in your work and how will you address these in the future? A weakness in my work would have to be my craft skills towards the end of the module. I feel as though I perhaps did not allow enough time to try out my packaging for the promotion pack and as a result I was not completely happy with the job I had done. The packaging was fully functioning and in keeping with the brand which demonstrated my ability to apply a certain aesthetic and the maths behind the packaging, but it was my craft skills that let me down. I aim to work on this over the summer and practice. I think sometimes that because a large amount of the work that we do is computer based and digitally aided, that it can be difficult sometimes to get back into the frame of mind where you have to work hands on.
5. Identify five things that you will do differently next time and what do you expect to gain from doing these? Time management and allow for mock-ups and prototypes to ensure a professional finish. Contribute towards group discussion more and perhaps ask more questions. I feel I am already okay with blogging in terms of keeping up to date with it, however towards the end of the module when my main focus was to get the promo pack done, my blogging slipped a little and so an aim for next time would be to remain in control of the blogging for the duration of the module. Carry out more of a personal investigation into the idea of PPP and what it is all about. I think next time round I would probably begin work on the promo pack sooner to allow for mistakes and set backs, but more so that I could develop my ideas further and really push myself to create something special and something that I could really be proud of.
6.How would you grade yourself on the following areas: (please indicate using an ‘x’) 5= excellent, 4 = very good, 3 = good, 2 = average, 1 = poor 1

Attendance X Punctuality X Motivation X Commitment X Quantity of work produced X Quality of work produced X Contribution to the group X The evaluation of your work is an important part of the assessment criteria and represents a percentage of the overall grade. It is essential that you give yourself enough time to complete your written evaluation fully and with appropriate depth and level of self-reflection. If you have any questions relating to the self evaluation process speak to a member of staff as soon as possible.
