Tips for Successful Thrifting
- Shop out of season. Check out the winter coats in the summer and browse sleeveless dresses in the winter.
- Never look for one specific thing. The fun is in browsing! Looking for a specific thing will often leave you empty-handed.
- Buy ahead for children. Kids grow fast. When you find a quality piece, buy a few sizes up and store them.
- Shop all sizes. Shopping many different brands and styles at once means that in one brand you might be a small, and in another a large.
- Know your style. Knowing what shapes, styles and colors work for you will save you tons of time. Same goes for household goods.
- Give back. Remember to donate unused items and gently used clothing to your local thrift store.
