• Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, container gardens, and kitchen gardens • Scout and diagnose pests and diseases • Practice daily maintenance including raking, mulching, weeding, edging, watering, mowing, and blowing • Enhance your skills working as a team and leading projects • Assist in member horticulture classes • Visit local growers and gardens
TURF MANAGEMENT INTERNSHIP
• Experience working on two distinctly different golf courses (Classic vs. Modern) • Experience managing turf in a transition zone climate • Perform chemical and fertilizer applications • Experience disease scouting and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) procedures • Operate equipment related to turf management • Assist with irrigation/drainage installation and repair • Perform hand watering with the use of moisture meters • Learn the best practices in golf course and turf management • Enhance your skills working as a team and leading projects • Interact with various university and USGA consultants • Cross-train with different departments
