THE HKR EXPERIENCE The School of Human Kinetics and Recreation (HKR) offers a small school atmosphere with the benefits of a larger university. You’ll receive instruction from professors who get to know you and want you to succeed; you’ll engage with the community; and you’ll have the opportunity to conduct research alongside award-winning faculty. As a student, you can make a difference. We pride ourselves on our student-centered experiential approach to teaching. In other words, you won’t just learn in the classroom — you’ll learn everywhere. The hands-on experience includes the opportunity to participate in co-operative education, giving students valuable professional experience before they graduate.
