Gus surrounds himself with skateboarding. He was the kid that skated to and from school, took the bus around the city to skateparks and street spots, and later on got his first job at a skateshop. Gus is always down to shred and makes the session a lot of fun.

Anthony is a fearless skateboarder. He hucks himself down sets and rails that most people wouldn’t even consider skating. He’s always getting others hyped with what he does.

Only 16, brandon has proven himself to the skateboard community by his humble attitude and his gnarly tricks; you’ll never see anyone work any harder to have fun on a skateboard than you will watching him.

Zack is one of the most impressive skateboarders in arizona. there’s a consistency and power to his skating that brings him out of the ordinary crowd. it’s always a pleasure watching him mess around on his board. keep your eye out for this one because you haven’t seen the last of him. 8

Chance Redman, an Arizona skateboarder, has put in countless hours into the natality of his first ever independent full length video, typist. The video features skateboarders Zack downing, tanner ballengee, roman panell, brandon cooley, and more. REDMAN’S IDEA FOR THE VIDEO IS TO CAPTURE NOT ONLY THE SKATEBOARDING TALENT EACH INDIVIDUAL HAS TO OFFER, BUT THEIR EMOTION AS WELL. ALL OF THIS TAKES PLACE WHILE BEING NARATED BY THE ONE TELLING THE STORY: THE TYPIST. “I ACTUALLY HAVE HAD THE IDEA FOR TYPIST BEFORE I EVEN GOT ANY SORT OF CAMERA TO START FILMING THE VIDEO. IT CAME TO ME SKATING ONE NIGHT WHILE TAKING A BREAK FROM WORKING ON A ZINE AND IT KIND OF JUST STUCK WITH ME FOR A FEW MONTHS. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTO CINEMATOGRAPHY AND REALLY WANTED TO PURSUE SOMETHING WITH IT AND SKATEBOARDING HAS ALWAYS BEEN A REALLY BIG PART OF MY LIFE, SO WHY NOT COMBINE THE TWO? 9
WRITING AND SKATEBOARDING HAVE THE SAME EUPHORIC EFFECT ON ME AND I REALLY WANTED TO BRING THOSE TWO THINGS TOGETHER AS WELL. SO I GOT A FEW CAMERAS AND HAVE STARTED PUTTING ALL THESE DREAMS INTO SOME SORT OF REALITY. THE VIDEO IS AT A SLOW START AND OVER TIME I HAVE STARTED TO GATHER A GROUP OF FRIENDS WHO ARE REALLY UNIQUE WITH THEIR STYLES AND I AM SUPER EXCITED TO HELP SHOWCASE THEIR ABILITIES IN MY WEIRD ENVISIONMENT.

I MEAN WE HAVE SOME OF THE MOST ORIGINAL FILMERS FOR SKATE VIDEOS OUT HERE, AND THEY PUT TOGETHER THESE INSANE VIDEOS. BUT I REALLY HOPE I CAN MAKE SOMETHING RESPECTABLE AND AS MIND BLOWING AS THEY HAVE MADE FOR ME TO WATCH.

erik loves skateboarding and jumps on his board every chance he gets. talking to him over the past few months has made me realize how much we are alike, even if thousands of miles seperate us. skateboarding gives everyone the same feeling.

Matt has been skating this gap ever since he was a little kid and every time he goes, he lands something. A little over a year ago, we found ourselves at this spot while filming for a video part and Matt wanted to end the sesh with a frontside bigspin. He gave it as many tries as he could before getting the boot and never came back here till this night. Matt thought a frontside bigspin wouldn’t be good enough anymore, so he stepped it up and added a heelflip to the mix. 41

“skateboarding has always been apart of my life. but i’ve seen most of it from behind a lens. i stopped filming skateboarding and picked up my first dslr camera a little less than a year ago so i could work on my magazine. i’ve had a rad time shooting and meeting people along the way, and seeing my friends progress with their skating. capturing moments such as the catch of a flip trick, the tweak of an ollie, or a grind on a handrail, is crucial. I never thought it would be this hard, but i love it. photography is my passion and i’m excited to be able to use it to capture something else that i love.
