SETTING THE SCENE • Memphis (7-5) continues its three-game homestand at FedExForum on Saturday, Dec. 31 when it hosts former Conference USA rival Charlotte (7-4). The game, to be televised on Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS), is slated for an 8 p.m. (CT) start. • The Tigers were not ranked or listed in the Also Receiving Votes category of both national polls, which were released Dec. 26. Charlotte is not ranked. • Memphis enters Saturday’s encounter after an impressive defensive showing in a 64-47 win over Robert Morris Dec. 29. Prior to that win, the Tigers had dropped three of their last four contests. • Memphis returns all five starters and 10 letterwinners from last year’s squad.
