SETTING THE SCENE • Memphis (24-4, 13-0 C-USA) returns to Conference USA play Saturday, Mar. 2 when it travels to Orlando, Fla., for a league encounter with UCF (19-9, 8-5 C-USA). The game, scheduled for a 12 p.m. (CT) start, is slated for a FOX Sports Network (SportSouth/Memphis Comcast channel 52) telecast. • The Tigers remained in the national polls for a third-straight week. Memphis moved up to the No. 19 spot in the Associated Press poll and No. 17 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll. • Memphis had its 18-game winning streak snapped Feb. 26 when it dropped a narrow 6462 decision at Xavier. The Tigers’ previous loss came 72 days before on Dec. 15 to No. 6/6 Louisville. • UCF has a 4-3 mark in its last seven outings. The Knights have won two straight with victories over Tulsa and Georgia Southwestern. • The Knights are 15-4 overall and 6-1 on their homecourt, UCF Arena, this year. • UCF returns four starters and seven letterwinners from last year’s 22-11 squad.
