SETTING THE SCENE • Memphis (11-7, 4-3 The American) closes a short two-game road swing at Tulane (13-6, 4-3 The American) in New Orleans, La., Saturday, Jan. 24. The Tigers’ road trip began at Tulsa Jan. 21. • Saturday’s game, to air on ESPNU, is slated for a 7 p.m. (CT) tip from the Smoothie King Center, home of the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans. • The Tigers were not ranked in the Jan. 19 polls and also did not appear in the Also Receiving Votes category of either poll. Tulane was not ranked in either poll. • Memphis has won nine of its last 13 entering Saturday’s match-up with Tulane. • In that stretch, the Tigers’ nine wins came over Bradley 73-45 Dec. 6, N.C.
