Memphis Quick Hits • Memphis has scored 31 runs in its last four games, marking the most productive fourgame stretch of the season for the Tigers. • Jami Miller hit her first career homerun in the opening game against Alcorn State. • Libby Goranson followed with her first career homerun in the second game of the double-header against ASU. • Pitchers Ellen Roberts (2.97) and Jordan Richwood (2.94) have both lowered their ERAs below 3.00. • Roberts went 2-for-3 against ULM on Thursday with one RBI. In the last 23 games, Roberts is hitting .318 with nine RBI. • Senior Alyssa Palmieri doubled for the first time this season against ULM, driving in two runs. • Richwood ranks 79th in the country, averagingg 7.0 strikeouts per seven innings. Last Week The U of M opened an Easter-weekend series with Tulsa by dropping two closely contested matches. Tulsa’s Lacey Middlebrook hit a 2-run walkoff homer to win the the first game, 4-2. The Golden Hurricane followed with a 2-0 shutout in the second game of the series. But, Memphis responded with a gritty 7-6 win in Saturday’s game.

Memphis made quick work against Alcorn State on Tuesday, winning both games of a doubleheader in five innings by a combined score of 18-0. In the fourth inning of the first game, Memphis put 13 batters in the box and scored nine runs on eight hits and three-Brave miscues. The Tigers continued the momentum in the second game, scoring one run in the first, three in the fourth and five in the fifth. After a slow start in the first three innings against ULM the Memphis bats came alive, collecting six runs on eight hits in the fourth and fifth innings. Ellen Roberts pitched a complete game, striking out six batters and did not allow an earned run. On Deck Memphis plays a midweek double-header at No. 10/10 Tennessee on Tuesday, with the opening game slated to begin at 3 p.m. (CT). The Blue and Gray follows with a trip to Orlando, Fla., for a three-game series with UCF. UTEP Quick Hits • Camilla Carrera leads UTEP and is fifth in the country in batting with a .478 average. She leads the country with 27 homeruns. • Carrera is hitting .561 in conference games, with 10 homers and 23 RBI. • UTEP is 11-13 at home, but 0-9 in true-road games. • The Miners pitching staff has a combined ERA of 7.19. • In C-USA games, UTEP’s combined ERA drops to 9.02. • UTEP ranks 32nd in the country in scoring (5.64 rpg), but 282nd in the country in ERA. History Versus UTEP Memphis is 12-5 all-time against UTEP, including a 7-1 record at home. The Tigers swept last year’s series by a combined score of 33-12 in El Paso, Texas. Jessica Phillips clubbed three homeruns in the series finale, setting the school record and tying the conference record for homeruns in a game. Maddie McKinley (2) and Heather Mott (1) combined with Phillips to hit a program-record-six homers in the game.

Tigers Host UTEP for Three-Game Series The University of Memphis softball team (14-29, 3-12 C-USA) hosts UTEP(24-7, 8-1 C-USA) in a three-game conference series on Saturday and Sunday. The two teams will play a doubleheader at the Tiger Softball Complex on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. and then close with a 12 p.m. contest on Sunday.
