Memphis Quick Hits • Four Tigers are hitting over .333 in the U of M’s last six games, Curtis (.389), Goranson (.375), Hargrove (.364) and Chester (.333). • In the same six-game span, Curtis has posted a .556 slugging percent and .476 on-base percentage, with four runs scored and three RBI. • Goranson is slugging .438, with a .412 onbase percentage in the last six games. • Goranson (.333), Curtis (.328) and Hargrove (.313) are all hitting above .300 in conference play. • Curtis leads the team in runs scored (9) and RBI (11) in 21 C-USA games. • Sophomore Ellen Roberts leads Memphis with a 2.73 ERA in conference play. • Roberts has appeared in 15 conference games, throwing nine complete games with 53 strikeouts. • Memphis has the 140th-ranked RPI. Last Week Memphis has played only one contest in the last 12 days, a midweek game at Mississippi State on April 24. The Tigers started off with an early one-run lead when Kamri Chester scored on a

past ball in the top of the third inning. However, the Tigers were unable to hold off the Bulldogs. MSU scored nine-straight runs, including seven via the long ball, to win the game, 9-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. This Week Memphis wraps up regular-season play in Conference USA with a three-game series against East Carolina at the Tiger Softball Complex in Memphis, Tenn. On Deck Memphis will prepare for the Conference USA Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The Tigers have already secured a spot in the championships, but will have to wait until conference play wraps up this weekend to determine their seed and opponent. History Versus ECU The Tigers are 5-13 against the Pirates in program history, but took last year’s regular-season series, 2-1. Memphis was unable to maintain the momentum in the series, losing the meeting between the teams in the 2011 C-USA Softball Championships. Memphis Welcomes East Carolina for its Final Regular-Season Series The University of Memphis softball team (19-34) will play host to East Carolina (23-26) in the final series of the regular season for both teams. The teams will play a double-header on Saturday, starting at 1 p.m. (CT), and a single game at noon on Sunday Following the game against MSU, Memphis and East Carolina have both secured spots in the C-USA Softball Championships May 10-12, host by UAB in Birmingham, Ala.
