Links to the live coverage can be found at GoTigersGo.com. On Deck Following the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic, the Tigers will open their home schedule. Memphis will host a single game with Mississippi Valley State on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 4 p.m. Memphis will then host the Blues City Classic from Feb. 24-26. The six-team tournament will also feature Miami-Ohio, Western Illinois, Northern Iowa, Missouri State and Southeast Missouri State. History Versus Hawaii Memphis is 0-1 all-time against Hawaii and met them in Honolulu in 2009. A sixth inning rally by the Memphis came an inning too late, as rain forced an early conclusion in a 5-3 loss. Rain delayed the game with two outs in the sixth and runners on second and third for Memphis. Officials later decided the game would not continue due to Hawai’i’s tournament policies, and the contest was ruled complete through five innings. Then freshman Jessica Phillips hit her first career home run, a two-run blast in the fourth inning.

History Versus Idaho State Memphis is 1-0 all-time against Idaho State and met them in 2008 at a tournament hosted by Arizona State in Tempe. The Tigers exploded for 10 runs on 12 hits in a 10-1 victory over Idaho State. Memphis hit three home runs in the game led by a pair of dingers by redshirt freshman Heather Mott who finished with four RBI. History Versus Rest of Tournament Field Memphis will play UNLV, BYU, Long Beach State and Indiana for the first time. History in Nevada The Louisville Slugger Desert Classic marks the first visit for Memphis in the state of Nevada. The Tigers also have no history against a team from the state. Tigers in Tournament Play The Tigers have participated in 20 different tournaments in seven seasons and carry a 52-44 record into the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic. Last year, Memphis finished 11-4 in four regular season tournaments. Mosby Opens Season with Bang Junior shortstop Morgan Mosby had a coming out party of sorts in the opening week of the 2012 season at the Mardi Gras Invitational. The Hernando, Miss., native led the team with a .667 batting average and four RBI. Mosby went 8-for12 in the four games of the tournament. In her first two seasons, Mosby totaled 15 at bats with just one hit and two RBI.

Stiff Competition Meets Tigers in Desert The University of Memphis softball team will face a tough lineup in its second week of the season at the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. Among the six teams the U of M will face in the tournament, the Tigers will play four teams that finished in the top 55 RPI last season and a total of five in the top 101. Three of the teams, BYU, Long Beach State and Indiana, were 2011 NCAA Regional participants. Hawaii and BYU are both receiving top 25 votes.
