Notes
The Tigers entered conference play with an 8-5 record, sporting identical 2-1 records in each of the four weekend tournaments where they competed in addition to a midweek loss to Arkansas State. Spending the first two weekends of conference play on the road, the Tigers split the first weekend against Louisville and Cincinnati and then lost to Temple the following weekend. Memphis returned to the Elma Roane Fieldhouse for a home stand of five games in nine days, starting things off against SMU and Houston. SMU downed the Tigers 3-1 and Houston outlasted Memphis in a 5-set battle. Memphis took on Tennessee State University in a midweek non-conference match-up and finished on the short end of another 5-set decision. The Tigers recovered to take down Rutgers and UConn to finish the home stand. Catlin Lilly leads the Tigers with 3.25 kills per set, followed by Lauren Hawkins with 2.96. Viktorija Teivane has averaged 2.60, with an even total of 200 kills on the year. Sydni Etheredge and McKenzie Hayes round out the hitters that are above the 2.00 kill plateau, with 2.09 and 2.08 respectively. Veronica Zimmerman runs the Tigers offense with 10.49 assists per set, or 839 total in 80 sets played. Aleksandra Petronijevic continues to lead the conference in digs per set, entering the weekend averaging 5.39. The junior libero will finish the 2013 season with her three spots on the All-Time Memphis Leaderboard for digs in a season.
