Heading Into the Match-Up With FIU:
The Tigers dropped their third-consecutive contest, 3-0, to Marshall in Huntington, W.Va., on Saturday night. With the loss, Memphis falls to 5-3-1 (C-USA 0-2-0) on the season. Marshall’s junior forward Tom Jackson posted a hat-trick for the Thundering Herd in the victory. Jackson scored goals in the 32nd, 33rd, and 83rd minutes of the contest. Michael Hayes recorded a pair of assists and goalkeeper Daniel Withrow posted the clean sheet. Memphis held advantages in shots (16-14) and corner kicks (6-1), but struggled to find its rhythm and the back of the net. This marks the first time this season that the Tigers were held scoreless in a match. FIU enters the contest after defeating No. 21 Kentucky, 1-0, in overtime on Sunday afternoon, bringing its record to 4-4-2 (C-USA 1-1-0). The Panther’s Roberto de Sousa scored after gathering a rebound off a corner kick in the 100th minute.
