Heading Into the Match-Up With Kentucky:

The Tigers dropped a heartbreaking contest with UAB, 1-0, on Wednesday at Regions Park in Hoover, Ala. With under 30 seconds remaining in the contest, a controversial foul was called in the box and a yellow card was issued to defender J.J. Greer. Babayele Sodade converted on the resulting penalty kick giving UAB the win. Memphis’ backline of Greer, Shannon, Johnson and Gagnon, along with goalkeeper Conor Hurley, negated the Blazer attack for most of the contest. Until the PK, the Tigers only surrendered three shots, with none coming on goal, and forced five Blazer offside calls. Meanwhile, Memphis finished with eight shots on the game, two coming on frame. The Tigers were whistled for five more fouls, 16-11, than the Blazers. However, none was more costly than the last. Kentucky enters the contest losing five of their last six games. The Wildcats fell to Indiana, 2-0, on Wednesday. Their lone win in C-USA play was a 3-1 victory over Tulsa.
